Pretty thought provoking for a handful of words. Since he is already dead then I'm guessing the fate is after death fate, heaven, hell, or maybe nothing at all.

Mr. Jones has many kinds of qualifying memories good and bad and some evil,
as your presentation implies. You could be trying to resolve the Jones' town massacre,( nicely grim presentation with the grave yard and raven)
or The Whole town's talking about the Jones Boy" lyric of the 50's, or just looking at the surname the only of two coming down from the Isle of Man a country in the Irish Sea.

You penned a perfect entry for the one line poem contest. The mystery surrounding Mr. Jones' fate in this God awful place is haunting. The Raven is symbolic and perfects the pondered implied question. Well done, my friend. Good luck in the contest.

An interesting concept, isn't it, a one line poem? There has to be a lot going in the line to bring out the power of the meaning. Obviously, Mr Jones is dead, which is the Fate that comes at the end of natural living. So the spinner word, "Fate" takes on the cloak of the supernatural.
