What a clever idea, a sonnet about writing a sonnet. This is a very helpful and encouraging poem. Every writer should have your last line made into a poster, for those times when a momentarily missing muse has the writer doubting his or her own ability. (Note that I took your "always allow alliteration" point to heart.) Your rhymes are very well chosen. I was particularly impressed by "brevity"/"imagery" and "concentration"/"alliteration."

You mention length of line, ususal subject, and syllable count but not iambic pentatmeter. Unless the lilt in the last quatrain is a brief mention of it.
Also most sonnets are written with an abab cdcd efef gg of an abba cddc effe gg rhyme scheme for Shakespearean of in the Plutachan rhyme scheme. Is this rhyme scheme a certain named form?

An encouraging poem with fairly regular meter going on here, to aid, assist, and allay the fears and discouragement of other like-minded sonnet-writers. I thought it was original to say that satire and similes would add clarity to a person's writing.
