Those were indeed happy days. Great poem, it feels so nostalgic, I can actually see the pictures so vividly. It makes you long for the time when you were you and carefree. Simply lovely

I am thrilled I could take you back in time to your happy childhood. This Quatern was inspired by a day in the park with my granddaughter and seeing her play on the same swings as her mother did years before. I also appreciate the six-star bonus. Thank you. Rod

This really is a happy poem,it brings back the carefree fun we had as children. I loved the picture you picked out, so much joy depicted. I miss those times and I think that kids grow up too fast nowadays. Thank for sharing.

Hello Poet, Yes, I remember those good old days. Youth is so innocent with all of the ugly that really exists in the world. You are right, there was no gender, color or age to worry about. I love it that you mentioned:

Remember all those happy days
of childhood when the only gauge
for choosing friends was "Can you play?"

Can you play? Yep, this was all that was asked and a happy yes was the answer, for hours and then days after that - then friendship for life as long as we wanted it but sometimes the adults got involved.

Your poem gives me happy memories and a smile. Thank you for sharing these wonderful thoughts.
