Brigitte,
You did a great job with the tribute to your dear mother. The picture is beautiful. Your words are descriptive & evoke emotion easily. Readers can feel your pain but also your love & devotion. Good job. Thanks too for your poignant notes. I believe your mother sees this & is happy & wants you to be happy. Thanks for sharing. Take care. Jan

"beckoned by his sacred call " ;- yes the pain sears but this line in your poem and the rest of this beautiful piece;- says it all
what a call
I send prayers to you and yours
when both my parents were gone;- it was not only the grief and pain and missing them and going over and over hoping that I had always done the right thing by them;- but; it was a desolate feeling where I felt like my last connection to the earth had gone; even though I had my own loving family
blessings
have a smiley day

Finding mom on the floors haunts me daily and I can honestly say I believe I took good care of her and her needs. Not being with her in her final moments is what hurts. I thank you so very much for your supportive words and comments.
    Blessings to you and yours,
    Brigitte

I am sad you missed the moment to say good bye but your entire life with her and the shared love and respect adds up to a multitude of moments which she took with her and she will eventually be able to see you at peace with that as THAT would probably been her major prayer
    God bless

Oh my, I am so very sorry for the loss of your mother.
I think what you have created in your poem is what so many adult children feel when they are so very close to their mother.
How the beauty of your words haunt me, as I cannot imagine losing my mother.
She is the best friend I have ever had. I'm 53 years old, I do realize aging is inevitable, but I pray she will live forever.
Please know I'm thinking of you and your bravery to write so eloquently of your grief.
Katherine

Brigitte, This is a very beautiful, sad and heartfelt poem you have penned about losing your mother. It is a very hard thing to deal with as I lost mine too. It was really hard for me for many years until I finally come to realize that she is with the Lord now and no longer suffering. That gave me peace. I still miss her, but am so happy she is free from disease and hurt. I know she must be happy now! I could not wish that back on her for anything in this world! Great poem! love, Teri

Thank you Teri for your kind and supportive words. I offer condolences to you no matter how long ago you lost your mom. The loss is deep and I commend you for accepting that she no longer suffers pain.Especially, during the holidays, memories come haunting. It was hard to write but I do feel lighter in the mind.
    Blessings friend,
    Brigitte

Hello Brigette,
Is this a contest poem... Lonely?
It certainly is lonely to lose your mom and I agree no one can take her place. Beautiful imagery emerged to paint this beautiful poem.
Best wishes,
Sylvia

Yes, it is a contest entry but that is not the reason I wrote it. It helped me lighten my heart in my usual fashion, sincere feelings put on paper.
    Thank you for reading.
    Blessings,
    Brigitte

Your heart is in these words and I am sorry for your loss. I try to prepare my children for my death by telling them that none of us live forever and that need to concentrate on enjoying ourselves now so that we have lots of memories in the bank for later. There is pain and grief in your poem and having your Mum's ashes is somehow a comfort to you, love Dolly x

This is a nice tribute to your mom. I too had my mother's remains cremated and the urn went to my sister whose son's paid for it. After my sister died unexpectedly her son took the urn and he had cut me out of his life a long time ago.So it was like losing her twice, not being able to see the urn. After a while I came to realize that my mom was always with me in spirit. Thank you for sharing such a personal memory.

Yes, moms are with us always in memories and the love never ceases. Family is everything, it is a shame that some do not realize this. may peace be with you my friend. If you were here I'd love to give you a motherly hug!
    Blessings,
    Brigitte

This is a lovely poem and tribute to your dear mother.
Yes, loosing your mother does leave a hole in your life and your heart.
Maybe being cremated and in the urn allows you to keep in touch with her.

It does keep her with me but is also a reminder that she is trapped within while I struggle without.
    My loss is heaven's gain.

Brigette,

Nope. Nope. Nope.

This is a state of life that I refuse to consider right now. My mom is currently 73 years old and I realize that the time is coming -- if the Lord allows ME to live long enough to see it, that is -- when I will no longer have my mother on this earth. But I can't even imagine such a scenario. Thanks for your eloquent poem and best wishes to you!
