Yes she was gorgeous as a bright young thing, but have you seen her recently? The years have not been kind. No not kind at all. Now that is indeed a shame, but you are probably the one to gain from that.

No, I haven't. I guess she is not aging well. Hopefully, I will leave a more positive legacy.
    Thanks for reading.

I think your name is beautiful and so is this poem. Shakespeare said it best " what's in a name?...a rose by any other would smell as sweet". I'm willing to get that you are beautiful inside and out, but it's what's inside that counts. By the way, I always wanted the name monique..

I love Monique, it's so classy. I always wanted to be Romy, an old fashioned German starlet.
Thank you for reading and reviewing. Boogienights is awesome, makes me want to dance my butt off.

I liked this poem. I liked your honesty about your name. Great story, but no doubt you're not a plain ole Jane. You're a poet and I see a retired teacher. Great poem, keep up the writing.

Having a name made famous by someone else seems isn't so bad. It is only when you imagine that you should live up to making the name famous like the person where you mother got it. You are fine only when you live up to who you think you are.

This is a great poem, Brigitte. Paired with the terrific artwork it makes for a very nice verse. I think glitz and glamour is overrated anyway. Too demanding and for not much in return.

Thanks for sharing.

But Brigitte, you are You. Your name is the only thing that is the same. You did a great job with your poem. I enjoyed reading it. You are unique. Thanks for sharing. Jan

nice work
your poem just described every single one of us devoid of botox and million dollar accessories and plush homes which someone else has paid a high price for
we are all natural and plain
that is what we say but
I certainly would not call nature itself PLAIN
and it is perfect as long as man leaves it alone
have a smiley day

A commendable General Poetry presentation, Brigitte. You wrote; "Sometimes a name can depict an image." You, betcha it can! My name has always depicted "a handsome image" to the beautiful ladies. Oh, there goes Grandpa's gene, "hop,
skip and jumping" in my mind again. The Artwork by; Liilia is awesome, and it
halos the words in your message, "crystal clear" for me. Sweet, Jesus! I think the name "Brigitte is beautiful--as are you." You could never be, a Plain Ole Jane.
"Toot-toot!" Did you hear that train a coming? XXjf
