Wow- this is really to the point, huh. Terrific for the six-word flash fiction. I've been behind I haven't done mine yet. ~Kerry

This is a very sad but very true six word poem you have penned for many instances in life these days. You used very good wording and the picture goes well with your words. Blessings, Teri

Hi MJ,

The key to these pieces is using a common framework/reference and saying so much between the lines. You've done an excellent job with this one.

Aw, so sad but unfortunately not so unusual today. This is a powerful six word contest entry. I think you've written a strong story here. And of course, the picture tells its own story. Well done.

This is a powerful six-word poem that focuses on a horrible excuse for a man who would be abusive to women, kids, animals, whatever. Excellent job with this important topic. Marilyn

Well done with this six word story
She is free and (hopefully) he has lost his freedom, though unfortunately there isn't always justice for the victims of violence.
Thanks for sharing,
cheers.

Wow! Dare I say it but this packs a punch.
Summed up in six words. Such a tragic end but at least she is free. Sometimes even after women leave an abuser they feel they are never free.
Profound! Palpable!.....Winner! Good luck
Cheers P

Good morning, Maria: This is a very sad six words that you have chosen. Unfortunately, this is also a very sad reality because this does happen again and again. She is now free from his obviously horrible abuse but not in the way any woman deserves to be free from abuse. No woman should be free this way. I do know that you realize this but I just wanted to share with you some of the realities that happen every day to many woman and children.

My niece was recently found dead because of her husband's abuse. She ended up taking her life behind all of the abuse and unhappiness. There are so many stories that I could tell you about my Aunt who wad abused to death (by her husband, my uncle) and my cousin (same Aunts daughter) who also was beaten and abused so horribly until he husband finally broker her back and took the children away from her. He then left her in a medical facility where no one ever visits her.

My sister was murdered by her stalker ex-man, who would not accept a break up by her but decided that if he could not have her anyone could or would. I was angry because his brother had murdered his girlfriend also. So I wondered why, with this knowledge, wouldn't my sister leave the state or at least try to get far, far away from this creep, that murderer.

After we buried my sister I met a man who ended up stalking me also and he threatened to blow my head off because I left him. I left him because he lied to me to be with me. Yet he was actually married and living between two homes. He lived with me and he secretly still lived with his wife. When his wife got suspicious she found my phone # and called me to inform me that he was indeed still married to her and coming back and forth between the two of us. I wanted no part of this kind of cheating, lying man so when I left him he told one of my sisters that he was going to put me where my other sister is - six feet deep. I left the state - leaving my house full of furniture, my great job, and my car. I took only with me my two children and what little we could carry. I escaped and I was free and I still am free. I do love it that I am still alive to tell my story.

Wow, Tier! I have no words. This is all so sad. How can people be so cruel?
Till now I only knew stories like this through the news and also because a mother in my son's school left her husband after many years of emotional abuse.
    Thanks for reading.

This is a tight flash fiction piece on domestic violence--a violence so brutal that the abused woman is only freed when killed. Piece made me think about recent mass killings in America which started off as domestic violence.

Thank you for sharing your provocative piece.

Hi, Maria;
Such a tragedy described in so few words. Of course, the sentiment that she is now free from tyranny just makes the entire thing obscene.

Thank you for sharing and bringing attention to this matter,

~patty~
