Brett can I ask you something?Now, this is only an inquisitive question.
With your song writing lyrics, do you solely write them for country music?
Country music seems to be the music that predominantly tells a story in its lyrics unlike pop songs which seem to have basic lyrics with a lot of repetition and a catchy chorus. This is purely my observation.

You have made it interesting and you have explained it all so well that those of us who may have never considered writing lyrics, could now be at least curious enough to join your group. This is very good advice. I have over seventy songs in a file. I haven't posted them yet because my songs go through several rewrites before I think they're good enough to post.

I must admit the above surprised me, but also made me aware of the many lyrics I love but simply never thought to examine properly. I took all the great lyrics for granted and simply sang or whistled them along.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. In future I'll take a good look at my favourite lyrics to appreciate what the lyricists had spent time making great for my enjoyment.

I agree with you regarding the rewrites. The same principals apply in Graphic Design. The first design is not usually the best, same with lyrics of a song. I listened to a hit song of old on the radio today and for the first time actually just concentrated on the phrases and rhyme and realised why it worked so well.
