I think these kneeling protests at football games and the like are a disgrace, Dan. It is a slap in the face to all of those who have fought and died for the freedoms we enjoy.
Luckily, our Cincinnati Bengals do not partake in these disgraceful displays of displeasure.
But even so, I have banded with many other vets to boycott professional football games. Give me NCAA college football any day.
Good job with this,
~Dean

A very well-written heartfelt poem. It is very sad to see how a great nation destroy themselves from within. It is all their own choice to dishonor what their country stands for all the years.

As a veteran, I know how much our Country and our flag and our anthems mean to us. Perhaps, in the future more people will understand what it is to be a patriot?
I am afraid the chosen colours make it hard to read, perhaps if you changed either the background or the word colours, it would be easier on the eye.

Danpald,

This is a hot topic right now, especially with Veterans Day upon us. I really don't understand what's going on about that, only hearing bits and pieces. I have to admit I have my own reason for not saying the Pledge of Allegiance with my hand over my heart. I am thankful for every veteran and what they have done for my freedom. I don't deny them the respect they have earned. But my allegiance is to God, and the Pledge of Allegiance would have me trade that for the flag.

The following edits are the reason for the 4 stars:
Boycott the NFL on Vewterans (Veterans) Day Weekend

Why do so many do (delete 'do') not understand

Too many lost their life (lives) to be free

The history shows (change 'shows' to perhaps 'reveals' - so that 2 versions of 'show' don't appear in the same line) no prejudice shown

Why are (change 'are' to 'have') the pretests (protests) to remove begun

Patricia

Thanks for the comments. Wow I really missed a lot of type errors. Thanks I guess I was writing too fast. I also pledge to God but to render what belongs to Caesar is also pledging to God. To show honor to the Flag of a Nation is to give Thanks to God for the place He gave you to live , especially if that Nation is founded on His Ideals.

I appreciate your input, and I bring it before God to see if He wants to change anything about how I have believed.

This is a very interesting and very sad poem you have penned about the boycott on Veteran's Day weekend. You used very good wording and good imagery with the picture you chose. The only problem I had reading was the font color. It was kind of hard to read! Blessings, Teri

Hi, Dan

= Interesting how the minority have taken over these days, and now dictate what the majority does.
= Excellent points brought to light. Too bad these peeps just don't get it. Doubt they ever will.

Cheers, J
Have a good day/evening!

I am sure that this is excellent poetry. However, the glare of the font on the red background has made it almost impossible for me too read. I would consider changing either the background or the font color. I will change the rating when I can read it all the way through.
Blessings,
brigitte
