I thoroughly enjoyed this tale and would love to be able to read more about the events leading up to the war and the genocide and the recovery. IOW this could well have been an extract from a book, if you had that in mind.
Have a great day further.

I think this would be the end of the novelette, where the two find romance after a series of adventures in the war. Even if the leaders wised up and held back the nukes, the next war will be the worst yet. Thanks very much for reading and reviewing.

There lies a scary tale here, and I'm certainly glad it's fiction! It is well written and indeed makes one wonder if this may ever actually happen? I was unsure if Grit was a villain or a hero? Or perhaps a bit of both?

I think his experiences in the war and the cave had left him a few fries short of a happy meal. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

A very well-written story. You should have entered this. Mine is so ridiculously wrong, that I had to change it a few times and still have to go through it again after more mistakes are pointed out. Oh, I give up to try and get the English Grammar in my blood. Lol.

English is a tough language to deal with, I am told. I know in The US it is regional, and constantly changing. I admire your skill with it. I think this story ended before the first bite was served...thanks for reading and reviewing.

Lige,
You don't hve many more chances, my friend. When does that contest close? *smile*
Even though you haven't been able to get what you wanted out of these, we're still getting to enjoy them. That's a plus.
Some notes:
1.) "There's a tavern with a cook who cooks mooses.
--> really? How about a 'chef' if that's not too big a word, here? And is 'mooses' really the plural? I think 'moose' works for both, doesn't it? (Or are you trying to be clever and I'm messing it up?)
2.) It's unbecoming." (S)he grinned and took my hand.
Thanks!

Trying to be clever with the mooses, and stay in character for Grit, but chef sounds better, less cooks in the broth. Think I'll change it and cap she, I just missed that. Thanks very much for reading and reviewing, Robyn.

Hi there;
I think this one was good - in spite of what you started out looking for. This one was full of suspense and a bit of creepy thrown in for good measure.
