This is a very well written and interesting poem. I never heard of these gangs, are they only in England? I really love poetry that has a historical background to it, and I love to learn anything about England in particular because my mom came from there. She never talked much about her life there before coming to America.

Thank you for your kind review, thankfully Birmingham is a much safer place to live these days! England has a lot of history and I do love the history of the kings and queens, the writers and the musicians, thanks again, love Dolly x

Hi Dolly. This is an interesting poem and thank you for your footnote explaining the city of Birmingham and Small Heath. It seems every country has its gangsters. Rhyming and flow in your poem is excellent with informative author's note. Marilyn

Even though we don't have gangs ruling the street, we, however, have the average citizen that is just as treacherous as the known gangs. The stick to like thinkers, toting and reading the Bible, presenting themselves as Christians.

Well this was a long time ago Phillip and thankfully the streets of Birmingham are safe now. Yes there are those who think of themselves as Christians and then commit crimes against mankind which disobey the commandments, thanks for your understanding review, love Dolly x

The roaring 1920's... Everybody loves a good mobster movie or show, but let it stay on screen. I pray that the old days of like Al Capone, Mafia and Gangs are over. Life is so different now. Good poem.

Hi Dolly, a well written poem in good abcb rhyme about a great TV series. I am watching Series 3 at the moment - I love it. Good helpful author notes for those who do not know the story. 'Birmingham is my home town, they breed them tough' - sounds like Newcastle where I come from - the Tyneside one, not the under Lyme. Good read - thanks for posting - warm regards Dorothy xx

Good morning again, Dolly: Yes, these were the back in the days - realities. The movies covered much of their treachery, crime and murder. They were the big time Gangsters of that time, as there were many other too..

When I was growing up, we used to watch the mobster movies all week long. I actually was not allowed to watch the movies full of violence and murder. When I was old enough to have my own home and husband, the rules changed so I have seen the stories about this crime family.

Your poem is terrific about them and it totally informs. Much love...

Excellently done, and a great history lesson at the same time. A style that I love and a sing/song style making it fun to read.

An Outstanding Read Dolly.

It Portrays not only a Story...but...Encompasses Real Life Drama.

The Characterization of Your Image Tells a Dramatic Story all in itself and One can Read the Epic Life in Detail as in Enfolds from the Beginning Verse through to The Very End.

Each Verse can be Pictured as a Story within a Scene of action.

Reminds Me of the "Boys From Chicago".

An Excellent and Outstanding Performance Dolly that Captivates the Reader's Gallery.

Very Well Done...Dolly...Very Well Done...Quantum Traveler...Phil.

Thank you Phil for your glowing review and generous six stars, I am honoured by your words which mean a lot to me. These gangs were real at the time and ruthless and evil and used to treat their women harshly and died by the knife. I?m glad to say that Birmingham is a safer place these days! Thanks again for your kind review, you touched my heart and made my day, love Dolly x

I know quite well the likes of these Jackals.
I grew up on both sides of the fence and Remember Quite well the Razors in the Hats...Stilettos and Brass Knuckles.
I've had the Pleasure of helping put a few of these boys away...Q.T...Phil.

Such inspiration you convey with your words as they not only bring the intimacy of your language correlated with crime that plagues all environments of the world.
I sincerely enjoy every lesson you bring to the writing table. You continue to give me a quest in my mind as I read your poetry.
We are all close to the writing you have brought to our attention as readers. I would ponder greatly that we all know of such chaos in our corners of the world we reside in..
Much thanks, as always for your beautiful mind.

Nice one Dolly. I have seen adverts for this show but the name name really put me off.

After reading your excellent poem I will certainly be watching out for this one. I like a bit of nasty work occasionally

hugs
