On this one thing I agree, we need to get rid of those who sell the illegal drugs. The thing that bothers me is there is only one drug that relieves the pain I have been in for 2 1/2 years and because of the epidemic of drugs, I cannot get the one drug I need that will take care of my pain. I am soon going to be 80 years and yet I have to suffer because of the young, who are checking out of life by using drugs. I have used little medication of any kind, and now when I need something that works to relieve my pain, I am told I cannot get even the smallest dosages. I have a lady in health care who sees me every three weeks and she said there are a lot of people with pain like mine, and cannot get help who are killing themselves because of the pain. Patricia

That is so sad Pat I really feel for you. Its cases like yours where a pain killing drug or one that averts the pain should be accessible and legal.
Thanks so much for the review

as a member of a huge family of addicts, this rings too true.
I always swore I'd never let it happen to me. Then I got sick and I had to take narcotics. I never abused them, still always have leftovers when the time allotted is up. But, Dip, I'd take just about anything to stop my constant pain right now. No kidding. I hope my days are as short as expected.

A very well-written poem about drug addiction. It all start innnocent and just for fun to socialize but soon we are over taken by the power and we want more and stronger drugs to cope with our daily.lives.

Hi, dip;
there is a great deal of pain expressed in your words. It seems that we have all been touched by drug abuse in one way or another. The pain caused by 'just a bit' is tortuous,

This is a poem that I would give a six too if I had one left to give. Not only is it one of your best skillwise ie great rhythm, perfect natural rhyme that flows flawlessly from line to line but the message is so needed. This is in no way empty flattery. I think this is one of the best I've read from the eyes of a guy who has never touched a drug. You nailed this dip! Exceptional poem.

Sandy your wonderful accolades mean so much to me. This is a very important poem for me to write. I have lost good friends as a result of drugs It is so sad their life came to this. But as for the suppliers they should be convicted of involuntary manslaughter

I completely agree. Our children, friends and family will continue to be victimized as long as the authorities hold out for bigger suppliers.
