This is a very well written poem you have penned for the picture this challenge. You used very good descriptive wording that told a story. Your words went well with the art work! Blessings, Teri

Dear Teri, Thank you for your review and the five stars. This is a poem written for a friend's sad experience after being denied his fiancée's message that she went to see him but became unwell and so left without him knowing. He waited and waited, but it seemed as if she never came. Her parents were not nice people at all, and I know they wouldn't have told her the truth. He has since passed away himself , so they are together forever now. Cass

Good morning, Cass: This poem is very familiar. I thought I reviewed it already . I must have read ti previously in your portfolio, started to review it but I possibly for got to save it. This has happened to me before so it is possible.

I liked this poem. It is appropriate for this picture. It is a very sad situation. It seems that when this person was finally able to visit with this loved one - after a few tries, it was too late but now can visit freely at the grave site to bring the flowers. It is a well written poem and it tells a clear and heartbreaking story. I could put myself in this persons place and see this whole sad situation playing out in my mind as if it were me.

This is a remarkable submission.

Dear Tier, thank you for your review and the five stars. I have a confession to make. You aren't seeing things ,my dear. Yes this has been presented before under another name. (Now deleted). I made such a muddle of this piece first time round with previews and disabled that I decided to withdraw it from the Picture This challenge. After a chat with Jax Franklin, I realised all was not lost and renamed it (again) and let 'er rip. So there you are cherub, not your mistake at all. thanks again for reading my poetry. cheers Cass

I am blown away by your beautifully worded and touching poem. I wish I had a six for you, Cass. This is lovely. Rhyming, rhythm and word choices are all perfect. Great job. Marilyn

Dear Marilyn Thank you for your review and the five stars. This is actually version three. The other two got mixed up with previews and disabled and have been deleted. This version was also renamed, but should stand the test of time. cheers Cass

Dear Jacqueline, thank you for your review and the five stars. The artwork was intriguing to say the least, and it usually takes a tug at my curiosity to stir my interest. I did check your entry out. Very good!! Please read review of same.

the flow faltered a few places making a jolty read, but it in no way took away from the excellently done piece and the story as old as time. Nicely done

Dear Barb, Thank you for your review and the five stars. The poem is written and presented "as it comes" and I risk making a mess of it if I fiddle with it too much. Your words are most encouraging and much appreciated. cheers Cass

G'day Cass.

A beautiful, sad answer to the challenge mate. Lovely rhyming and accompanied by that lonely picture makes it a wonderful piece.

I miss the group and am hoping to return to it once I get this horrid editing finished,

Fantastic work.

Cheers Fez

Dar Fez, Thank you for your review and the awesome SIX stars. You are very kind and generous. Yes, editing is a pain in the seat , but a necessary evil. Page after page after--(***^^~) Keep at it there has to be an end eventually. A bit like knitting spaghetti, without the tomato sauce. Thanks again cheers Cass

A sad tale indeed Cass.
And it definitely triggered strong emotions.
I could not help but wonder about who those people were
that worked so hard to keep them apart. Family assumedly,
who thought her beneath him, I suspect.
A sad, sad tale.

Beautifully crafted.

One quick thought...I think there may be a typo in the opening
line of the final stanza...was that supposed to be
Now I [come] visit where none can refuse (?)

Dear Friend, Thank you for your review and the five stars. The first line of the last verse WAS a beat out, so thanks for the nudge, but I've fixed it now. I put "shall" inferring that now he is at is own discretion, they cannot naysay him or turn him away.
    Thanks again cheers Cass

What a lovely and sad poem. Emotion in the reader is the true test of a good story or poem, in my humble opinion, and you have accomplished that here.

Dear Linda, Thank you for your review and the awesome SIX stars. You are such sweetie, I always enjoy reading your reviews. You always cheer me up. You have so much love to give away to everyone, to receive a liberal dose of it myself is like having an extra serve of my favourite dessert. Let's see now, what would I like right this minute? Lemon meringue pie? French pastries with confectioner's custard? Black Forest Gateau? Can't resist that. I'll have two serves with a cappuccino. Now look what you've done!! Ruined all my good intentions AGAIN. Naughty girl!! (Bless you dearest Linda. What fun we have ) cheers Cass

I enjoyed this poem so much, Cass. You did a super job of responding to the prompt of this unusual picture. I was wondering if you'd accidentally left out a word in the first line of the last stanza. It seemed the rhythm was off by a syllable. But this is not a big deal to me. I still liked it very much and thought your rhymes and word choices were excellent. MM
