A very good six word poem.lt tells quite a story in so few words. This is very hard to do but you managed it very well. I wish you luck in the competition.

Thank you for these kind words. It is hard to tell a story in six words. The image supplied by Ski-Ii made this possible.
    May we never forget.

Thank you faithful reader. It is hard to tell any story or create a scenario with six words. I thank Ski-II for supplying the image which helped make this one work.

An awesome dedication to our Veterans having served, Brigitte Elko. Some came home on ships, planes, trains and yet, others in a box. Veterans day is only heartbeats away, let us be grateful for their courage and fighting spirit, while etching their memory in our hearts. Securing our right of choice was costly and yet, they bravely paid their part.

Some of us will walk among our heroes across the Hallowed Grounds this Veterans Day, others will ride their scooters, or roll along in their chairs. Of course, we shall hold our heads high, and watch Ole Glory as She ruffles a salute to us all from atop the pole. Some will smile, others cry and yet, we shall all Pledge Allegiance to God and Country.

As the sun kisses the earth in the west, A Bugler will blow TAPS. The sound shall echo along the headstones of our brave men and women--and against the Ears of God. Please, remember them America. We Veterans "SALUTE," you, Brigitte Elko! You are an awesome Author--and we love you. Best wishes for good health and happiness always.

Respectfully,
Bill (Junglefighter)

I replied in private message...thank you humble...just a thankful lady for heroes such as yourself. Six words can not describe what is in my heart.
    Fondly.

Amen to your author's notes. I like this. It's difficult to say much in six words but you have said a mouthful. Good luck in the contest. Thank you for sharing your work.

My husband is a veteran and I thank God for our heroes who came home and pray for their peace if they sacrificed their all. I totally agree, with you. May we honor them continuously lest we forget...It is hard to say enough in only six words but my note under the poem tells readers that it came from the heart.
    Blessings,

My husband is also a Veteran. I honor and revere the braveness and sacrifices of those that fought for all of us. May we never forget the sacrifices....In God we trust... Thank you for your kind review. It is hard to tell such a story in six words when there is so much more to tell. Thank you for serving our country!
    Blessings,

I love the deep message in your short poem. It is very hard to convey such emotion when limited by number of words, but you really managed to pull it off.

The nod to our veterans was a wonderful tribute. There is so much these people went through, that honoring their sacrifice is a wonderful gift.

Take care,
Rhonda

I am not sure what sort of cocktail you like, but this is reminds me of a Spanish bullring, where blood and dust are it would seem, fairly commonplace, but that I think is probably a place where many of us would rather not go. Perhaps that is part of your message, reminding us that either substance can be present wherever we go, and not necessarily be avoidable.

I think the note under the poem explains the cocktail to which I am referring. Our heroes that lost their lives fighting for our country. Their blood mixes with the dirt....cocktail analogy, like gin and tonic. Since I could only use six words, I could not be more specific.
Thank you for reading and I hope you can now visualize my attempt.

Enjoyed this--even before I looked up the definition of "ineffable" !!! It has been a while since I saw this word. It is almost beyond words to describe the sacrifices made for our freedom. Great tribute to our heroes.

Thank you for reading. There are a few poets on this site that send me to the dictionary repeatedly.
Usually, I write from the heart and very simply.

In my opinion, a striking poem, in tribute to our veterans, of which I have two in my family. Thank you for honoring them with your words, which comply fully with the prompt. Best of luck in the contest...
