Here I sit, and no I won't quit. Take me to jail and give me some time, but before you do I claim the pot as mine! Tell the boys to strike up the band, because Holy Moley, I won the hand!

That's some slow motion stuff!

Ya can't beat the house, or Lancey(ask Steve Mcqueen) and the years have left me totally beached by the jargon, but I enjoyed the mental pictures of multinational possums and roosters with hole cards. And if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck

Thanks, LIJ, for offering this last line. Bill
Comment from Spitfire
Clever to ask the reader to supply the last line. Good job of writing in animal talk and using colloquialisms. I had to read it out loud and that was fun. Sounds raunchy at times. Each character has a distinctive personality that comes through. Can't think of a last line except for maybe "We're all out of doughnuts, but how about quakers?"

That could be it. Once you accept the idea of these animals playing poker, the line makes perfect sense.

"Have a heart, Officer. I'm just a duck under the gun in the muck."
Have no clue about poker or most card games. Enjoyed the dialect-infused speech.

Thank you, lyenochka. You are the first reviewer to give me a final line. Bill

I got the "under the gun" and "muck" terms from a poker terminology site. ☺

Nice!

The big winner is the bobcat. He eats the other players. He should have held out he won the pot. If he had played longer he would have won more hands, and then feasted.

The bobcat was actually a declawed, transgender, vegetarian, as well as an undercover vice officer.

This fantasy script about duck and their world of play is fascinating with the lessons on living and playing; good narrative and dialogues are funny and humorous; I liked.

Wonderful, Bill, I liked it a lot and it made me laugh throughout. But I must concede defeat. I cannot provide a punch line. Not much help there. All the best. Ulla:))

No takers on that punch line. I'm thinking of giving the duck the possum's personality and going for the 'wise quack' at the end.

Not a bad idea at all. I wish.I could be of more help.

Exceptional. Very funny. I love the ideas for a script. Its very original, very clever indeed. It makes me feel good as I have a rapor for animals.
Only, its too long for a card game as I believe these guys wouldn't last that long before they flee away!
