Cute poem fits well within the guidelines. I was intrigued by the cute picture. I've had days like that when you think it can't get any worse and yet somehow it does, where you're counting down the minutes until a new day.

Cute. Which came first, the picture or the poem? I like your write-up too. I totally agree that some days it pays just to crack an eyelid, appraise the day as a non-starter, and take the decision to cancel the day due to a lack of interest.

Hi Bob, the picture...I thought it was so cute...it reminded me of the Silverado truck my grandkids had...it was small...my son put these big flood lights on the hood...you could see it coming miles down the road...and yes I have those days I just don't want to get out of bed...thank you for a great review...love Linda xxoo

LOL - I love the artwork you chose for your clever 3-5-3 poem, and the title, too. I should think this stands a very good chance in the contest, my friend, because even though the picture makes it funnier, it stands alone well too (with that title). Tight package! Best of luck.

An amusing image to illustrate your poem. I wonder whether it would read with more 'play' if you put capital letters at the beginning of all three lines.... and maybe punctuated it to promote meaningful pauses. (?)

Sometimes it does feel that police pull you over because they feel like it. Like once I got pulled over for forgetting to turn off my turn signal. The officer even said, I can't give you a ticket for it, but did you know your blinker has been on for the last mile?
It is a fun illustration for the poem.
Keep writing

HI Joan, I have been pulled over for some crazy things...once because I was almost on the yellow line...I thought...then give me my ticket for almost going on the yellow line...I didn't get one...I just love this picture...thank you for a great review...love Linda xxoo

Hi, Linda.
You're welcome. Maybe these cops are lonely and need some human interaction. haha

This one is just to much! And, that is meant in a good way.
Well crafted, and funny, too.
What an illusion the picture paints.
Makes you wonder why the Police do not write "real" speeders more tickets.
Too bad you didn't enter this into a contest. Would have been an easy winner.
Am book-casing this one. Not something I usually do.

L R,
This 3 5 3 is adorable and the picture looks like he's receiving a ticket and parked in an unapproved location. Very fun and causes the reader to relate and empathize with the child. Nicely done. :0 GracieAnn

Love this. Remind me of an incident the other day when a guy on a bicycle lost control and ran into my car as I was driving away. He was ticketed, but it cost me $ 330 to get my car fixed. Had a $500 deductible non insured insurance. LOL. Best to you in the contest.

Ha! Does he even have a pocket to keep his license in? If his car is electric, it may well be able to exceed a residential street's speed limit. Then they may get him for not wearing a seat belt.... Superb, and perfectly illustrated. (Sorry I have no Six left.)

Hi Mike, and for not wearing shoes...it is an electric car...my grandson had a Silverado Truck...small like this one...my son put flood lights on the hood...you could see him coming a mile away...LOL...thank you for a great review my friend...and just your virtual six is more than enough...love Linda xxoo

You are welcome, Linda. Yes, I suppose some municipalities do have laws about foot attire while driving. Loose sandals could be big trouble, for instance. Bare feet could be an issue if the pain of an accidentally stubbed toe prevented proper braking.... Anyway, this post made me smile, which panicked the burglar trying to sneak past me in the dark.... :))

LOL Mike, I have been stopped for some pretty crazy things...once because the officer said I was almost over the yellow line...no ticket was given...and another time was on my birthday...my girlfriend and her family had a party for me....I don't drink alcohol...they got me a bunch of balloons...I had them in my car...I saw the officer on the side of the road...I wasn't speeding...just listening to soft music at 1:00 am in the morning...he followed my about 3 or 4 miles...we stopped at two lights and he still didn't pull me over...finally as we got into town..the lights on his car went on...I rolled the window down and he almost crawled in the car with me...he took my license ...came back and said I was speeding coming down the hill...I could only have been a couple miles over...I saw him and stayed with the speed limit...I asked him were that was at...where he pointed out was miles back...I never did get a ticket...told my son...he said he saw the balloons and thought he had someone who just came from a party drinking...said he almost got in the car with me hoping to smell alcohol...and he stayed behind you hoping you would drive all over the road...when you didn't...he had to give it a shot...so he pulled me over...crazy...
I'm so glad I made you smile...the picture made me laugh...smiling back at ya...xxoo love

Yes, many of them have a quota to meet to ensure revenue for whatever jurisdiction they come from. If they are not on schedule, they'll put more effort into trying to justify tickets. If their cycle is by the month, near each month's end pressure on them rises. Also, if the fine will be higher and/or the laws are stricter within city limits than outside, they may wait to pull a city-bound driver over until inside the city (as in your case), or an outbound driver over before crossing out of city limits. Also, the lower the speed limit, the less leeway you have to be over it before a ticket will be issued. You may be okay at five mph over (or even more, if you are keeping up with general traffic
flow) on an expressway, but only marginal at 43 mph in a 40 mph zone, and have no leeway at all in a 20 mph school zone when school is in session.
Furthermore, women driving alone after midnight should be especially careful, as some individual cops set up a speed trap in order to force themselves on women intimidated by being stopped -- even if they were not actually over the limit, just accused by the cop. I lived in a city where that happened repeatedly, where the only route to a particular area went through a dark cemetery, until there was enough evidence to bust the cop.
Regarding the little boy in the picture, will he be scared just enough to become a good, careful driver as an adult; or will he grow up to resent the police for spoiling his fun? That depends on whether those two cops have a sense of humor and let him see it. Of course, if the whole thing was staged just for the picture (which is likely), then it's just funny.

HI Mark, I do know what you are saying...I hope it was a joke...have a great evening...xxoo love

Cute picture. Good presentation. But awe, better luck next time kid. Start punishing them too young and too strict... And it's beernuts in detention centers with wicker dreams. Let us pray for a brighter future on our younger generation. Bless your heart. Have a good weekend :)
