Hi, Patricia;
thank you for sharing this little piece that rouses good memories of snow days back in New Jersey. I wasn't allowed to stay outside until my nose got cold because it seemed that I always ended up getting sick, but I loved playing in the snow.
Snow days were even fun when my kids went to school. We had so much fun on those 'extra' days. I found the best projects for us to work on, and the day was usually a memorable one.

Hi Patricia,
This is a very descriptive write. From your poem I could easily picture the kids in their excitement of having no school and wanting to play in the snow. I don't blame them I would like it too. I grew up in Southern California it happened a couple of times but the snow didn't stick. But I got to stay home because my mom promised if it ever snowed I'd get to stay home. I prayed for snow and it happened a couple of times. So I held her to her promise. Anyways this is a very good poem.

Thanks for the fun review.
My husband and I raised our girls in Southern California. Some ot the largest snowflakes I ever saw where in Azusa, CA. But like you say it did not stick.

Thank you for the nostalgia--I was born in Brooklyn and still remember building snowmen in the neighboring streets. I enjoyed your rhymed quatrains and could visualize the scene. Smiles- Joan

Patricia,
I enjoyed your cute poem about winter fun. You are right about the no school line. I like the rhymes & the smooth flow of your lines. You need to write more like these. Thanks for sharing. Jan

How lovely! I love playing in the snow, but we don't get much in Spain. I remember only one day, when I was little, when school was cancelled.
My mum, however, hates snow because she relates it to how cold she was during the war ( she even had chilblains).
Thanks for sharing this heart-warming poem.

Thank you for the lovely review, Maria. This will probably be the last winter in my life where I will see snow. I will be moving to a very hot spot in the low desert.

A delightful fluffy day off school sledding in the new snow! I remember that snow was always welcome when I was young, but as you grow older it seems to be a curse! A lovely uplifting write Patricia, love Dolly x

Such a fun little poem, Patricia! I grew up in Hawaii so well, no snow days for us. In fact, I can't remember a single weather related school closure. But my kids did but even for them it was rare in the Pacific NW. Thanks for sharing this fun memory.

You mixed past and present tense in the last stanza, but overall the content is perfect and just as I remember the snow days and the cold days.lol
