I play classical music in my first grade classroom. I've read that it helps children think and calms them. I also use lavender to help calm them. It does work.

Fascinating essay, here, Patty! I enjoy music but I rather move to it so it would distract me if I wrote while playing music - unless, it was a song. So usually, I play music while doing physical activities like cooking, cleaning but for cerebral activities, I prefer silence. But I will keep your research in mind if writer's block hits!

I think that all poetry is language music and all music is poetry. I try to have music in the background, it seems to inspire me. Very well written, a lot of good information.

There are some new ideas you have presented that makes perfect sense. Music plays an important part in calming the beast within and it rocks when helping establish the mood. Nicely done. No problems noted
