This is as a sonnet must be, a message as like a little song as it can be. The description, a melody, flows as smoothly as the material from which it is made. It deserves all its accolades.

This poem is very Patriotic (obviously) and I like the sentiment. The cadence seemed a little difficult in a few places, but mostly was spot on. I love the ending and how you used "I" for the rhyme.

What an awe inspiring sonnet. I love the entire poem, but particularly the first line and the last two. Hats off to anyone writing a sonnet. I don't think that I could. I took particular note of how you ended your next to last line with "I." Now that is clever and oh so useful. I do not invert enough of my sentences. You use that technique so effectively. And I like your adjectives like "humbled shame" and "lithe beatitude." This is simply a well done poem. Good luck.

This is a Sonnet Poetry Contest Entree rich in Theme and imagery.
It flowed well and read well with no grammar issues as well.
Adjective Content was aligned well with Objective Content and Descriptive Measures aligned perfectly.
Good luck with this.

This is an excellent poem describing our stars and stripes. I think that anyone that wants to disrespect or deface the flag needs to be severely penalized or deported. Good men bled and died for it. You did an awesome job with this poem honoring our flag. Well done.

I love those who show respect and love for their flag which symbolize the nation's identity. I just don't understand the Leftists when they desecrate and burn the American flag and call it an act of freedom. It is rather a twisted idea of freedom. Keep writing more poems with this theme. God bless.

Thank you so much for review of my poem and for the 5 star rating. My inspiration was actually from those who knelt in protest during the singing of the National Anthem. I do have much hope for the future of our country through the strength of youth (which has been so strongly voiced as a result of the recent and powerfully devastating school shooting in Florida). Thank you again for enjoying my work.

This is such a wonderful tribute to your country that it really needs right now as things turn topsy-turvy and is represented at the Olympics by the daughter of who you have for president. Oh, for the glory days, when the world looked up to this nation...

These lines I find best in your great poem:

Though hate, despair and sorrow she shall face
Through love and hope and patience she shall thrive
In pride her wave majestic shall encase
Her stage for Freedom endless shall survive

Thank you so much for this lovely review and comments. We are definitely struggling within ourselves at this time but I have much hope that through "love and hope and patience" we shall thrive. Our youth, through the recent tragedy in Florida, have given our Country great hope and encouragement that its future (which will be in their hands) can endure. Thank you again for the wonderful review!
