Amada, I enjoyed reading this entry for the 'Family' contest. Its short but poignant message allows one to stop and reflect on one's own family and happy memories of kids growing up and the chaos of a normal family home. I miss those days but am blessed to have two beautiful angels still under my wing...for now. Thank you for sharing. ~DD

Welcome memories come floating back. One of the things I love about writing is how much you remember. My brother is showing signs of forgetfulness. I tell him to start writing and all of the memories will come flooding back.

Looking back is something we all do, with increasing interest as the years float by. Memories are the stories of our lives and as writers, we seem to have a strong need to put them to paper.

This really paints a vivid image! You can see in your mind a get together with children, chaotic, but full of life--and being pointed back to the illuminated memory to lay a blessing over this bustling family scene as you recall it. Beautifully written.

This is a poem that captures one of those moments that seem so trivial, but in retrospect, seem much more significant, full of emotion that is overlooked at the time. I think you have some nice detailed touches in the imagery that bring the moment to life, and in the last stanza, you seem to be standing in the distance, recognizing the significance in the perspective. A memory remembered. Its really a very romantic sentiment; we never live in the perfect moment. In the moment, we don't appreciate it; When we appreciate it, we are no longer in the moment. estory
