Lovely poem and what a great picture to go with it! I find the villanelle a difficult one to write but yours reads very smoothly and the rhymes and required repetitions are expertly done. And the theme of the poem works well with the repetition as in life from early on, the world does become too much to bear and we need someone who can comfort and care. Great job!

This is such a charming photo and poem, Tony. I think this piece speaks for all of us at those times when we lose our "adult" and revert to needy children--as my sweet adult daughter puts it sometimes "when she feels small" and needs a hug. Marilyn

You have an idea how to bring comfort to a little angel. Of course, that requires experience when she reaches out to you to quiet down her fears. I come to learn that poets are excellent, creative writers. Very nice.
