Lovely villanelle, Tony. The image you have chosen gives it a while new feel as the reader can empathise with a distressed and slightly overwhelmed child. Otherwise the only line that might truly indicate that this is from a child's POV is this one:
I can be brave. I know I can. So there!

Excellent rhyming and the iambic meter is smooth throughout.

Any nitpicks? Perhaps the banshee and the razzmatazz don't tie in too well with that POV... Otherwise, great stuff!

Steve

Very many thanks for your review and comments about "A Need for Love", Steve. I appreciate the six stars and take your point about 'razzmatazz' and 'banshee'. Clearly a young genius in the making! Best wishes, Tony

The thoughts of a child and the warmth of a parents arms. Your poem is sensitive and thoughtful and a joy to read. We can only be brave if we have somewhere to run to recouperate. Love Dolly x

TFAWCUS,

Very nicely written work. Thoughts are expressed and described well. Very well reflected thoughts and opinions. Perfectly arranged. Your formatting is wonderful. Good flow. Understandable.

There was no SPAG, no typos, no room for improvement.

I look forward to seeing you again.

Love you,

Oatmeal

This is a very complicated poem structure! I am impressed! it doesn't seem forced at all...and it is a very vulnerable poem as well. very nicely done--rare six stars from me

I think the minor variations to this creation made it one of the best I have read, Tony. I've always loved the villanelle and this is one of the best I've read. Great stuff, Giddy

Not my favorite form (repetition always sounds wrong to me), but the words you use in this poem made me forget the repetition, Tony. I think we grown-ups need to express our emotions as easily as kids do. They cry intensely, seek out a hug and kind, comforting words, and go on with their day. Your precious granddaughter is getting so big! Love the photo and the emotional beauty in her eyes. Exceptional villanelle.
Smiles,
Karyn :-)

Lovely child and villanelle. Although it makes me ponder the power of the weak and
the young that are served by compassion, It also makes me see clearly the lovely grace of a child and the courage innate in human nature.

Well done. I know how hard a Villanelle is to compose since I have recently written one and still don't like it, needs more work. Beyond the construction of the poem itself, the topic, rhyme and language are excellent.

Wonderful quatrains my friend. Super photo to compliment your story/poem. From the young to the old, we all need a touch, someone to care and an arm around us. Loved your poem. Well done XXK.

Everyone needs a shoulder to cry on, a hug, a kiss, or just a simple smile once in a while to show them they are loved. I liked the descriptive words used in the poem. Thank you for sharing, NB
