I enjoyed this piece, Bill. Having only read maybe two pieces from the book, I'm not privy to everything you're going for, but I thought this has potential for an abundance of plot threads.
Good luck with your project,
Russell

I liked the expression:
nestled in the chamber of his ear. I could vividly imagine such a voice.
I've closely followed the story of the Pale Sisters, although I'm sure I missed several chapters at the beginning and in between.
But this introduction is powerful in impact and handling.
I look forward to how the story will progress.
Best,
Apky

Whoa! This is a totally new and alarming direction for you. This is nothing like the mostly irreverent musings that you usually engage in. Skunk World, Caterpillar World and such. This back story does much to set up and explain the story of the Pale sisters. Yet, it came as a total surprise. The language was so different that I was knocked totally off stride.

Thanks, nomi. I'm still working on the end to this story, so I thought I'd backstory us up for a while, to see how we got here.

Nice artwork that complements your chapter very well. Two forces struggled, and in the ends with them allowing men in their area. A bit like the Genesis.

I really enjoyed your story and had thought it was a story into the future then realised it's almost a prequel to a previous story. I like your style and hope to learn a lot from the manner in which you put stories together. PM

Interesting passage. I wasn't sure if this was based on history. I know the ancient Phoenicians which the current day Lebanese ascribe their ancestry to, were an advanced people who came up with an alphabet which influenced many of today's alphabets. Looking forward to see how the "Seer" will reveal himself.

As I go along, I will replace the character names with more historically accurate leaders of the time. Thanks for taking a look. Bill

It seems somewhat dreamy with the word gossamer as an adj. although they may have had such woven materials, who knows. I don't know if, as I can't tell from this if you are interested in authenticity. If so, a book, Memory and the Mediterranean is the best modern attempt.

Gossamer, adjective, used to refer to something very light, thin, and insubstantial or delicate.
Gossamer is also the term used for spider web
Nothing to do with material
