Interesting last line, D., as the hummingbird is not a song bird. Oh, well. They certainly are strange little creatures - how about writing a poem about how hummingbirds kiss? That's got to be a challenge for them.

No - I think its is just that I would have taken a different approach. But that's why some poems are surprisingly good - they are written from a perspective the reader is surprised at.

I forgot that as we here in the states are moving toward winter you are gearing up for summer. I liked your poem as it brought back a sweet memory of my mother in law rescuing one and cleaning spider webs off its tiny feathers. It was amazing to watch.

Sweet poem to herald in the hummingbirds. Sadly, winter is approaching here and they've all gone.
Like the rhyming of summer and hummer. 8-)

This is lovely. Well done, Dip. Some good rhymes and rhythms here. A tiny poem for a tiny bird. IO wanted a tiny review too but Fanstory wont let me off with less than 150 characters.

I do hope this is not you holding this precious little one.
I love to watch them flit among my flowers with the speed of lightening. They are fun to watch and you captured him perfectly

No it was a shared photo on Facebook. Whether it has fallen from the nest I am not sure I don't know if this shot is just a chick or fully grown cute bird though
