Great piece!
And thank you for utilizing my artwork with your story!
It's much appreciated!
Your piece is quite thought provoking and I often have similar thoughts when speaking with the homeless. Some are just ramblings, but others are so much more.
Thanks again for making my art come alive.

Victor--
If you had quoted the christ I might have bought this. This is what we see in ten thousand movies, I don't know , testimonials of one sort or other. Isn''t there any other way of reading this? Is there just this one way? Can you allow you, talented poet to be limited to this one way of reading your experience? Is there another word for what "Christ" represents here.? I think you are cheating. Cheating! You are not using all the words you have. You have been forced into a very narrow box to come to the "Christ" conclusion. I think you are wrong. I think you should imagine the pressure behind this and write a poem abut it. I think you should write a poem with alternative endings.

Thanks
Wabigoon/.Jeff

I also thought I was being rather "assumptive." But...this had a VERY different feeling to it. I have had only omne other experience remotely like this. It is detailed in a poem called, "Parking Lots. Dusk, and Dust." Normally, my intellect dismisses such rubbish as the conclusion I came to. It might not have been anything but a hobo. But the feeling I got in a parking lot one day was indescribable-such eternal peace and serenity washed over me/thru me that I thought I must be dying. Other very mystifying things. Lasted twenty minutes. Like being allowed a short glimpse of eternity/ecstasy. This encounter had very similar feelings. And, my gut is almost never...wrong. Thank you.

I will stick with my review -- you're cheating.

    As you wish.

Not denying your gut just the name you put on the feeling. Those are two very different things. The psyche is full of all kinds of magic that predates "Christ" and all that by infinity. Give your self a break!

I assume this encounter actually occurred. But, even if not, I realized, the excellent dialog was keeping me interested throughout (even though the low contrast between font and background made viewing difficult).

Well done, Victor.

If the Christ were to come, what would He look like...I guess that's why when I actually met Him, I would never look down on another human again.
Isaiah 53:2-3 "For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground, He had no form or majesty that we we should look at Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him.He was despised and rejected by others. A man aquatinted with suffering and grief.
Isaiah.53:5 "But He was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities... You've been offered a life line, will you reject Him who loves you? Well done, blessings, Roy

Yep, that last line certainly raises a lot of questions.

Have six stars for the pleasing informality of the piece leading to the thought-provoking ending. You set the scene well and describe the incident concisely. Good stuff.

What is that verse, If you do it to the least of me, you do it to me? Something to that. This is awesome, oh wow, this is well deserving of a six. Thanks, you made my day!

I found this poem intriguing in a number of ways. It asks a lot of questions. What caused you to call out to him? Did something different about him register?

Most enjoyable and thoughtful poem, and most enjoyable as well.

No, and then yes. At first, I just thought to myself, why can't I just be a human being to this guy and treat him with respect. Which is actually me. And I have considerable empathy for man. After interacting with him, it just...changed. He was a being not bound by time. Eternal.

In answer to your question at the end of your superb free verse poem, "Yes, you talked to Christ." The Christ reveals himself to us in surprising ways.

I love the matter of fact freshness of your verse. It is casual, almost reportage in style and detail. The conversation and its implications are riveting. They case one to contemplate the in-explainable. You pulled me into your true life narrative. Although you are a fence-sitter in matters of faith, your story possesses a deep spiritual, observant quality to it. It feels honest.

The only error was the extra G in "giggling" in your author's notes.

Other than that, this in a refreshing, insightful poem. Thank you for sharing.

I can't believe I haven't answered you. What a wonderful review. In every way. I almost did not write this, let alone post it. I thought it might be ridiculed as embellishment by my mind. Or my ego assuaging itself, like I was important enough to be granted such a visit. I still wonder, slightly, if I embellished. But that is simply the forebrain which cannot accept anything but the explainable. The logical. This was...amazing.

A wonderful and thought provoking poem Victor. So glad to stopped and took the time to communicate with him as you may have just entertained strangers, unaware. And who know, it just may have been our Lord taking time for you.

Very nicely done my friend and thank you for sharing.

Blessings
