Fear is well-described within your free verse poem - it is absolutely something that will inhibit joy, peace of mind and happiness. When we allow it a place (instead of mere watchfulness), it will overtake and imprison us, just as your poem describes.

"Escape Plan" is a thought provoking piece. Lighten up is good advice for those who are weighted down by circumstance.
