Indeed, when a man truly loves a woman, he opens himself to all kinds of trouble. His heart is vulnerable to all sorts of things, uncertainty, fear, jealousy, shyness. All the things that he shunned before are now his constant companions as he now must fear losing her, the one he holds dear.

You really do understand things, don't you?

77 years of life, 47 years of marriage to the same woman. Oh yes.

A refreshing write about men's sentiments for a change. I enjoyed the flow, rhymn, and life stages in a man's relationships Thank you for sharing a different view of love.

Yes, Doug, and when a man in love sees, he sees perfection because--as we know all too well--love is truly blind.
It's true; I've seen it happen time and time and time again.
You hear your friends saying things like, "I wonder what the hell he sees in her?", but the truth is, he doesn't see at all.
He's been blinded by loves light.
When a man loves a woman ... he can't keep his mind on nothin' else.
Excellent free verse, my friend.

VICTORTOUCHE,
Your feelings are well expressed. The theme was excellent! Your descriptive words were very good for explaining your ideas and your feelings. They were very understandable and comprehensible. The poem flowed smoothly.
There was no SPAG. No room for improvement.
I look forward to seeing you again.
Love you,
Oatmeal

I felt like you were describing my brother. He's been unlucky in love 3 times and now has given up hope. Sad outlook. I liked the tight lines of this. Very rhythmic. Great job. Gretchen

Nothing can turn a man's head like a beautiful, and conversely, nothing gives a boost to man's psyche, than to be loved by one. They are difficult to lose. But there is nothing like the support that comes from woman that is friend and companion through life. Beautifully written, revealing a myriad of need sown within us. Well dine, blessings, Roy

I understand this to be along the lines of a lyric, although not to the tune of.
The illustration that looks to me like gypsies enmeshed in their own time, is
perfect with this. It makes me want to be creative myself and that's good.

Nice love poem that shows how patience, faith and hope can bring unrequited love around to shared love. It seems this was hard sought after and well deserved for this man who didn't let hurt pride get in his way.
Keep writing

Interesting poem. Men do keep their emotions under wraps rather more than women do in my experience. Rejection is a private matter, not to be talked about or shared. It certainly was in my day! Good to hear that this one had a happy ending for the poor fellow!
