A good play on words in the clever title of your poem. The image is gorgeous. Each line fits perfectly into the diminishing syllable count so is visually appealing. Much luck in the contest with this descriptive entry of things we love in the fall. Marilyn

Good morning again, Patty:

Your nonet is very nicely done and you actually made fall sound so great. There is something about the Fall that depresses me. Maybe it is because it is the end of the summer. This is what it used to be, that summer ended and school began and the cold weather started but now I think it is because I have had two serious losses in September.

But your poem has made me look forward to it a little. It is cheery and welcoming. NICE...

    Hi Tier;
thank you so much for reading this little poem. I had a good time putting this one together and listing all of my favorite things about this season -- I think I like fall best of all,

Hi Patty
Yes, fall is almost here. Actually, I think autumn begins at 5:02pm on Friday, September 22nd. But you'd never know it. These monster hurricanes are pushing hot, humid air into the Maritime provinces. (I live in southern New Brunswick.) We just came home from morning errands, stopping at the Pumpkin Patch for an ice cream. It was blistering hot, hotter than the hottest day of summer!
But I love the fall...
"cool air"
"Leaves transform to shades of amber,
Russet, magenta, and pink"
"Pungent smell"
It is definitely a time to pamper yourself with hot cocoa, quilts, pillows, woolly socks, cuddling and love. (oh, yes... you have "wooly" but the actual spelling (i believe) is "woolly".
My birthday is also in October. So is my father's, and my youngest son's. But I think I like October for Halloween when witches fly. I wrote a poem (way back in my portfolio someplace)... it starts
"There was a witch who couldn't fly.
She couldn't sit upon her broom
like other witches in the sky.
There was a witch who couldn't fly." ...etc, etc., etc.
Halloween is the best!
Anyway, good nonet poem. I wish you lots of luck in the contest, my dear!
Hugs
Kimbob

It is very obvious that you are a fall lover. The shades of amber, magenta and pink, the smell of burning, the heated homes and the hot chocolate as well as the woolen socks are a sure sign. Well-done.
Thank you for sharing.

Homes are heating up,
Time for cocoa,
Wooly socks,
Cuddles,
Love.

Hello, Patty,

I love autumn too. It's such a pretty season. The leaves change colors, the air is fresh and crisp, Halloween, ..... so many good things. I like your nonet, it is very well composed. Good luck in the contest.

Nicely written nonet poem. I think Fall is SUPPOSED to be here but I think we actually skipped it. It is so cold, we actually had to turn the heat on the other day. It's funny because just yesterday I wrote a poem about how winter is here. I liked. Thank you for sharing, NB

This is a lovely nonet, accompanied by a beautiful picture.
I also love autumn, because the temperatures aren't too extreme and the colors are beautiful.
Good luck in the contest.

Your colorful descriptions go so well with the beautiful set up you have on your nonet. I, too, love the autumn season. It can be very lovely, only thing winter is next which has its own beauty too I guess, but much cooler. I can see and feel the words as you describe them. Nice ending with love...Carol
