Well, this just cheered up my day! I love that this bird has figured out a way to let you know the birdfeeder is empty. He also gave you really good material for the contest - a great story and a strong entry - best of luck and thank you so much for sharing!

Thanks for reading and your vote of confidence. It was a fun story to write. It is strange where stories come from at times.

This is and adorable little story, my friend. That is so cute that a real little bluebird lets you know when his feeder is empty. They are very smart. Think about it, they fly from North to south every year without a map or road signs, lol ~Kerry

Thanks for reading and commenting. You're right, they are smarter than most folks think. So if someone says you are a bird brain take it as a compliment. LOL

well, you have introduced me to a new word. Tunk. I have been trying to think what I would call the sound of a bird's beak tapping at my window, but having never actually heard that sound, and you have, I'll take your word for it. (pun intended :)
That really is unusual for a bird to be smart enough to do that. Have you named him? If he/she's that smart, "it" ( ha) needs a name, I think - and later, when you write your book, you can include this character who reminded you of one of your daily duties. Hey! Maybe you could call him "Tunk!"
Anyway - fun subject. Best wishes to you.

Thanks for reading and commenting. My brothers used to "tunk" me on the head when I was young. They would always say tunk, tunk when they did it. Thus, the word tunk came into my life. LOL

I always thought it would be fun to have older brothers, but alas, I was the oldest. Should've "tunked" my sisters. I like that word.

I like this story. It flows well and has humor.
The artwork goes well with your story. Especially the sign, since I'm in the sign business. My lettering is not quite as neat as this.
Filling the feeder may not have the result you're hoping for.
Good luck in the contest.

He's no dummy!
Even your picture is awesome.
I loved the 'tunk tunk tunk' on the window pane. One can see the ruffled feathers and the gleam in the determined eye. You have a great, humorous style of writing. Straight, to the point, no words wasted, as you evoke lots of energy and emotion on both sides of the story.
Awesome, or, didn't I already say that? hmmm, it's true.

My daughter has a sparrow that appears every morning at her glass door. They are funny little creatures, and when you think about it, pretty darn smart.
A fun Flash fiction that tells your story effectively and efficiently. Nice artwork to accompany as well.

I love it. So true. Noticing the bluebird is the sign of a true writer. He knew you well to make sure you took the time to write about him.

Story depicts the cleverness of one smart bluebird and the determination he displays to get his feed.
A pest who will not give up until he is fed.
A range of your emotions also displayed throughout this accounting.
Should make an interesting entry into this contest.
