    It may not be many years before I do get to stand before Him and thank Him for loving me so much.

Thanks for this good reminder, Patricia. Knowing now that you struggle with so much physical pain and eye problems, this poem has even more meaning about your faith in the Lord to deliver and the promise of Hope we have in Him.

Hi, dear Patricia. This is a lovely concrete mountain made of words...which suits the poem's imagery! Lovely faith overtones. Lovely presentation.

One nit: mountaintop is one word, not two, I believe

Also, I suggest a comma for pause effect (and grammar) here:

iron gates of death open(,)
I'll step through the pearly gates

and a dash or semicolon here:

beginning sweet eternal life(--)

and a comma here:
standing there before my Lord and King(,)
my struggles in life will be worth it all.

Exquisite phonetics with all the S sounds plus the consonance of P here:

iron gates of death open
I'll step through the pearly gates

Great message...the struggles are worth it when they are paid in grace!
