I liked the simplicity of the situation. The simple things we do to show love, but the image created makes it sound like he pour her cereal bowl full of coffee, lol. Maybe she likes it that way.
He pours black coffee,
fills her cereal bowl, and
whispers I love you. --I think it might work better with punctuation. Since it's not a Haiku, you can use punctuation, right?
