Yes, I know this horrid feeling:
Scared but not wanting to offend
My silent little prayer
His driving I would never recommend
Lord, please let us live and get us there
We had a taxi driver in Mauritius who drove just like this--awful.
Best wishes in the contest.

Thank you for reviewing my poem. It was written about my brother driving my Mom and myself through Baton Rouge.
He has passed five years ago of brain and lung cancer. I like to remember him with now funny things. He was a great guy.

A very well-written poem about a back seat driver who has to fear for their own safety when riding with a new learner driver. They seem to have too much confidence in their driving skills while we have none. Lol.

I can imagine the foot on the imaginary brake pedal as I read. Some are not an inspiration to other drivers. I had a friend like that and he had a Jag. Never had an accident but caused dozens. LOL

I like the poem and a good entry for the competition.

Thank you, Mel, for reviewing my contest entry. I don't think my brother had an accident while driving but he was not
a safe driver in my opinion. He passed five years ago of brain and lung cancer. I miss him.

I like being in full control of my fate and my situation, especially where driving is concerned. I don't look forward to relinquishing control of my steering wheel for any reason, to anyone.
Unfortunately situations arise that dictate otherwise and leave us little or no choice.
That's why it is imperative that whomever you select to drive you around town is well trained and knows what they're doing.
Backseat drivers tend to make me extremely nervous.
Your poem for the backseat driver contest was funny.
Thanks for the laugh this evening! Best of luck...

Thank you, Irish Rain, for reading and commenting on my contest entry. My brother never had an accident but he drove way too fast. He passed away five years ago of brain and lung cancer at the age of 58. I smile when I remember him but never wanted to ride with him. :o)

Sorry that he's passed...but I know what you mean about the driving, ha ha!!

If this is true, I never want to be on the road when your brother is and I would absolutely never want to ride with him. Wonderful job! Good luck in the contest!

Thank you, Natali, for reviewing my poem. The story is true. My brother died five years ago of brain and lung cancer at 58. He never had an accident that I know of...but he drove way too fast. I didn't like riding with him. I miss him very much.

This speaks high expectation of completing the motor race keeping mother on the front seat and brother in the back seat, but brother's driving is not recommended; I liked.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my tongue in cheek poem. This did actually happen. I didn't like riding with my
brother driving. He drove way too fast.

I drive when I'm in the back seat the same way I drive when I'm in the front seat. I close my eyes. Actually, I'm a terrible back seat driver. My wife's driving scares me to death. This is a very well-written poem. I know what you mean when you write about an imaginary brake.

:O) I hope you don't close your eyes when YOU are driving. :o) My husband also scares me. I pray in the front seat with my seat belt on and my eyes open. LOL

Your short rhyming poem presents quite a vivid picture of the nervous passenger rather terrified of the driving habits of the person who has their life in his hands. I would much rather be a driver than a passenger and it sounds like you are the same!

Good luck in the contest.

Yes. I love driving and trust my own much more than anyone else. My brother has passed now five years ago of brain and luncg cancer at 58. I miss him but not his driving. :o)
