This poem is terrific and well-written. It is true that a lot of folks feel guilty because they are comfortable and well fed. Those poor people, my heart goes out to them. All we can do is watch and pray.

You capture the lack of power we feel in the face of a hurricane. Man is nothing in the face of a natural disaster. Everyday, earth quakes, storms and more show us how helpless we can become.

A very well-written poem about the human and his never ending thought process on a daily basis. There are many questions and we cannot get answers to all of them. So we keep searching for answers.

You said so much in so few words Dallas. It's true, we do watch the inhumanity to man, man fighting the weather, man fighting the many sicknesses and ills that befall us, all from the safety of our living rooms. Humanity was much better off without TV. Too much knowledge and nothing being done. Or so it seems. Very emotional, Well done. NAncy

Thanks, Nancy.

I admired your timely poem with all the turmoil that is occurring in the world. The "flood of humanity" resonates hurricane Harvey, and I noted the alliteration with "flounder" as well, along with your symbolic capital "O's" in Ours. Best wishes in the contest- Joan
