Hi Ulla, I started out to say that I can picture the 'ragged' mountains. It's a great impression. The picture bears it out.
I think I had my own image of where you would go with the idea of the protectiveness of them: guardian, impenetrable.
Then I noticed the word 'embrace'. The impression changes. It's gentle, kind protection.
I love that.

A very well-written haiku about the majestic mountains surrounding the valley. Standing guard over the valley. From the top of the mountains the views are awesome.

Considering I know nothing about haikus, I feel I can still say I liked this one very much. Strong imagery (even without the excellent photo). I think you did great job with this one too.
