"I'm a lousy poet and I know't..."

My point in penning it was to once again state what many others before me have as well, and that is for many FanStorians it is all about picking up the Funny Money not in writing a good review.

I'm sorry, Brett. I realize that my dumb sense of humor must have sounded insulting. I have written about the same subject matter myself, so it isn't my intent to sound so flippant.
I have difficulty reviewing/judging poetry. Like a common person off the street who walks into an art gallery, I know what I like but don't know 'why'.
I saw the title and understood, but then got personal about that understanding. When I've tried poetry, I think, "It stinks, how can anyone review it otherwise?" So then I think, "They just need the funny stuff." Underneath, it does feel good to think it might be 'not bad'.
I also tend to ad-lib, trying to come up with something to express the feelings a poem gives me. That isn't really a critique. But then, poetry is supposed to make us 'feel'. Then it IS good.
More than you wanted to hear, right?
Well, please forgive, I really did have good intent, because you made me relate.

It certainly fits the 5-7-5 syllable count. Other than having the title (or subtitle) in with the poem. We all have to put up with lamenting reviews on occasion. These are designed to make us better writers and not just for criticism. We could all use the cash prizes also, I am sure. Good luck.

Many will agree with you on this post
but there still are a small number of excellent reviewers
For most, it's all about the money, which is a bit sad
because they miss the most important aspect of the site:

This is a very well written 5-7-5 poem you have penned. You used very good wording and good imagery with the picture of the robins. I guess I appreciate the fact that I can review and promote my work and not have to pull out hard earned cash all the time. I think it is a blessing! Teri

My point in this was to re-iterate once again, and I am not the only one who has said this, that for many FanStorians, picking up the Funny Money is more important that writing a good review.
