Good thing the police took them out. A few less to worry about, but more will come right behind them.
This is certainly a crazy world, and a scary one. All we can do is keep faith in God and pray.

Maria, this is a powerful poem on a devastating territory attack in Barcelona. When I first heard the news, I thought of you. It is good hearing your response. I also thought of my two vacations to Barcelona and how I had walked La Rambla. Your words are stark, speaking eloquently on how the attack tore mothers from their children and friends from each other. One of the victims, a San Franciscan, came from our area as the attack affected tourists from thirty-six nations. You also spoke how the attack achieved nothing but tears. All of the attackers are dead or captured now and we must somehow reassemble shattered lives which cannot be glued together.
Thank you for sharing your powerful poem. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Barcelona and those who traveled and died or were injured there.

Thanks for your kind review, Andre. This was indeed a tough topic to write about.

MJ,
I think you've touched on a brilliant point. What on earth is achieved by these events? They make no big announcements, they don't convert anyone to a new side. They just spread hate and sadness. I don't get it - but then, I don't think any sane mind can get it. --sigh--
Thanks for this poem of respect. Nicely done.

To some, I'm afraid, breaking hearts is an achievement.
Why else perpetrate such mayhem?
There is always a point--heinous as it may be.
I abhor terrorism, but we are mistaken if we deem it pointless.
One man's opinion.
Peace, Lee

Pointless from my perspective, not theirs. I agree.
Thanks for reading.

If we remain blind to the terrorist perspective, we can't combat it. Condemning terrorism is all well and good. But to stop it, we have to understand it.

This is a very well written poem about the senseless act of people like that. So much sadness and death for no reason. You used very good heartfelt words in tis poem. The picture you used went perfect with this. It almost looked as if the clouds were getting ready to pour tears onto the streets! Blessings, Teri

Thanks for your review, Teri. You're right about the picture. I thought the same when I chose it.

These random acts against innocent people unknown to the perpetrators are beyond all comprehension. Such pointless tragedies. You bring this home to us with your empathetic poem. I think that the fact that you address it to the killer makes it even more powerful.

Great poem. Though I know little about poetry, I could feel the emotion in your words.
Our continued battle with terrorists who spread their hate around the world paints a bleak picture. I cannot understand how violence and hate toward innocent people can satisfy the anger and hurt in the hearts of the terrorists.
You've conveyed the feelings of many of us in your poem.

I know nothing about poetry myself...
Thanks for reading and for the generous rating.

A very well-written heartfelt poem about the terror attack in Barcelona. The senseless terrorist attacks seem to be getting worse rather than stopping. It is sad that there are so many innocent people that have to die for another's cause.
