I was thinking about how all the prettiest girls in these small towns have to go out and see what they can get from the big world. A lot of them come back and marry the boy they left behind. Thanks much for reading and reviewing.

I really enjoyed this story Red. They are two great characters and through your dialogue and descriptions it is easy to get a picture of this scene. Good ending too, you could do more to this story,
cheers.

Thanks very much for reading and reviewing my short love story. Maybe a hint of Sweet Home Alabama in the plot-line, but Georgia in the dialog. I think those two are about to switch to Plan B.

High society comes home to red neck homage to maybe rekindle friendship she walked away on. Stuck up frusterated and mad she is now home and fells alone

From my little town the prettiest girls and most ambitious guys leave to make a bigger splash than our puddle. Some of them come back. Thanks very much for reading and reviewing.

Red, I always enjoy your unvarnished takes life in the fringe country.
Nice job of telling one story while filling in the backstory.
A couple of times, you lost me, though. 'Charlotte was back with a plate identical to mine. She placed it in front of Mary Lynn, overhearing her, and we all laughed.'--somehow, Red, this doesn't feel kosher.

That being said, I envy the realistic grit with which you sand your stories.

Peace, Lee

I debated making that two paragraphs and clarifying that the waitress had brought her old friend an unordered lunch, overheard Mary Lynn's remark, and laughed with them. I guess I should. Thanks very much for reading and reviewing, Lee.

Lige,

I always wonder how much of your stories are real and how much are fiction -- the line seems to get more crookedy and crookedy. *smile*

A really fun piece. I'll wait to see what happens!

One note:
1.) Then you commented later that we (were) not going anywhere.

Thanks!

Pretty girls leave small towns to wow the world. Sometimes they come back...thanks very much for reading and reviewing, Robyn, and for catching that sloppy edit.

A very well-written story. A woman with a successful career come back home and having trouble with her car that seems to need an alternator. It seems she planned the meeting with the local hero. Lol.

This was a popular plotline of romance novels a few years ago. Beauty leaves to conquer the world and comes home wiser.
I felt the urge to write my angle on it. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

For someone who was so big on herself, she came down a notch or two, didn't she?

I take it they will be rekindling the old love? More of this would be very nice. I loved the conversation and the narrative.

Thanks very much for reading and reviewing my short and backward take on Sweet Home Alabama. The plotline as been popular in romance novels, too.
