Lovely love poem. To finally be with the person you were meant to be with, there are no words. I love the imagery used here. Thank you for sharing

This alternately rhyming piece in quartrains has a beautiful poignancy. Having followed much of your earlier writing I am aware of who this is for and I know the way you feel. Even eternity together will clearly not be too long for you two.

Jim, thank you for this great review and your comments. I thought it an ordinary poem and I didn't have the resources to promote it, that special friend did. I am curious to know who you think she is. I will confirm your answer if you are right. One other author told me who she is and that person was right.
Have a great day my friend,,,,,,,,,,Jim

I don't know her name but she has made you very happy.

Reminds me of a dilemma my mother-in-law used to discuss. Her first husband did during D-Day and her second husband died about 10-11 years ago. If all 3 of them go to heaven, which one will she be with and what will there ages be.
Your lovely poem brought back this unanswerable dilemma.

Steven for me I do not have that problem. I'm not married so I have no one that means anything to me. We share many things and this is why we have a special friendship forever!
Thank you for your review and comments,,,,,,,,,Jim

And, of course, I catch my typo after posting my comment. Her first husband "died" during D-Day

I enjoyed reading your spiritual poem "Waiting at Heaven's Gates. You rhymed it well except in the first stanza. Date and gates do not rhyme. Adding an 's' alteres the rhyming.
All the best in the contest.

Jim, it is so good to hear from you! Welcome
back! This is a wonderful poem of hope and
peace. But I assume that you and your
significant other had many days ahead. I am
so glad that you found each other and that you
were open to this relationship. -Bill

Bill, it is good to be back after a very close call at death. They had to revive me in the ER and moved me into a cardiac care unit with machines hooked up to me. I had kidney failure and a very high grade MRSA infection throughout my body. I was unconscious for three days after being put in isolation. Tough twelve days, Bill, but here I am on a long road to recovery.
thank you for your excellent review and great comments. It is good to be back, maybe part time at first. this woman truly means so much to me Bill, but there is many miles separating us. we manage to enjoy the greatest of friendship that I have never ever had in my life.
Bill, I hope you have a great day my friend,,,,,,,,,,Jim

Geez, Jim. When you are well enough, MOVE! MOVE!
There is no good excuse.

This is a very lovely poem, Jim. I made me think of my husband, who is waiting up there for me. I'd like to make one suggestion. In the 4th verse, put a semi-colon after the second sentence, as the 3rd sentence only continues on and I would eliminate will from that sentence. Makes better sense, I think. Hello, Jim,
Your poem is very sad and romantic about two lovers that are soulmates and have a deep connection that nothing can break. Good job, honey.

Gypsy, thank you for this most excellent review. We live miles apart, but this friendship began on June sixth, 2016 and has gotten stronger each day. We have become soulmates and have talked about the two of us spending an eternity together.
I'm not sure if I am coming back to fanstory full time. Back in June, I came very close to dying and spent twelve days in the cardiac ward under isolation. It was touch and go for the first five days. Gypsy, I'm still struggling with different physical problems. I will try to do my best to get back into the flow.
Have a great day and weekend,,,, Jim
