Ali,

I don't think it's a secret that I am a very devout Christian. *smile* But I realize that not everyone believes the same thing. In this world, though I have to wish (of course) that more people believed as I do... I also am just happy that people have faith in SOMETHING and believe in something greater than them. In this wild world we live in, morals and manners are so important. Let's start with that and then we can try to work out the other stuff. (If that makes sense??)

Very cool! Thanks!

How very true this is and yet the majority of the so-called civilized world can'rt see this that is and was so clear to all those early religions. There was no such thing as religious war until the exclusive religions started concerning themselves with ideas rather than survival. If my god is right then everyone else's must be wrong and so they must be persecuted. How ridiculous, religion is is only man's attempt to explain the inexplicable after all.

Wow thank you for your review, I really appreciate what you wrote. There are so few people who truly have open eyes (and hearts) and see the reality of things. Again thank you so much.

I believe I'll have another donut. You see, what you believe does make a difference. Paul Harvey used to tell stories of the terrible persecution and injustice occurring every day in foreign countries and say, "It's not one world."

Thank you for reviewing, I found your comments rather interesting and of course well founded. I do agree that there is terrible persecution and injustice happening every day and they even happen here; but I truly believe that people need to stop using religion and their belief as a crutch or as the cause.

A very well-written poem about faith. Without faith we will not have hope for the things we believe in that we can and cannot see. We have to make our faith our lifestyle.

The image is perfect for your poem. Both reflect a larger spiritual vision. Nature, especially, has a way of doing that for us. I like your poem because it speaks of personal choice in our belief system. Whatever that may be is appropriate for the believer. Faith isn't cookie cutter. Nicely and clearly expressed. Marilyn

This is so true, so long as you believe, that is the most important thing. We all need to have something that we can believe in to get us through the things that happen in life. I believe in God, if I didn't there would be no point in living. Excellent poem of faith, Alie, truly lovely. Good luck in the contest, my friend. :) Sandra xxx

This spiritual poem, Faith, states a belief in something that, I assume, is a basis for decision making. Since it "surrounds" you, it's power can influence and direct us. A power beyond us, that can provide what we need, is one that needs to be encouraged with our reverent observation. Nice poem.

aryr,

I like your simple statement 'I believe. It is as simple as that.' I agree. No on needs to go into detail. The individual & the who/what of their beliefs know. Good job on your contest entry. Your lines have nice flow with a great message. Best wishes in the contest. Jan

There are some who hold no allegiance to organized religion of any sort, aryr.
And although they may claim they have no faith in things "unseen", they still believe the sun will rise in the morning and set in the evening. They believe when they flick a light switch at home that as long as they've paid their electric bill the lights will come on.
As for me, I place my faith in the Holy Trinity--the Father, son, and Holy Spirit. But, as you said so well here, we all have a right to worship as we deem fit.
Nice ly done, and best of luck to you in the contest.
~Dean

Thank you so much for reviewing and your comments and contest wishes. I was always taught that believing in nothing was in reality believing in something because nothingness is still something. Good grief I do believe this could be ongoing lol. But you are right each person will believe what they want to, even paying their electric bill. I think the Holy Trinity is a great thing. Again thanks.
