Dear Analie,

For the littlest dragon was smartest of all, for a crown he won with the mere loss of a claw. Milton traveled abroad and ended up marrying an Indian princess. They had many children but Milton never returned to his ancestral land.

Warm regards,

Winslow

Its a wonderful story. I really enjoy writing such stories myself.
I saw one area needing a word...
"Until of a sudden,
on the following eve,"
Should it read "Until all of a sudden"??
I like the way you had the littlest dragon remember his manners when he belched. That goes a long way in children's stories. I wish only that the dragon did not need to lose a claw. If only they could have solved their dilemmas without violence.
Very well written. The script don't makes it a little tough to read but a very good story none the less
Thanks for sharing. It would make a great children's book. I too an trying to publish children's books. If you have any suggestions for me, I would love to hear them. Signed, Daniel Silverhawk

Great poem! I loved the imagery used and how the poem flowed so well. I liked the ending where the princes and dragons came together and united. Thank you for sharing your story.

Hi Analie
What a lovely, meaningful poem.
Which describes the scene with such vivid imagination.
The story is fantastic and morally wonderful which can be enjoyed by any age.
and a great picture to accompany
Mitchell.

This should be published and I hope that you do. It is a wonderful poem that I would not hesitate to read to my grandchildren. I loved it. I would suggest you go through and work on a couple of areas like the one I am going to point out and rearrange or change wording so that the flow is better, but only a couple of areas need this done. Otherwise it is perfect.
(For when it comes to princes
and kingdoms and kings,
compared to wisdom,
strength and size are trivial things.)
I don't know how you would want to make this flow better and still capture your meaning but if you have someone read through with you, then you may be able to see what I am pointing out. Great job and I loved it.

Thank you Annie! Yes, I know that is a rough spot. : ( I've tried many times, but I just can't come up with anything better! Any suggestions? (IT actually used to be worse!)

    Blessings, Analie

So Annie, I just decided to leave that one stanza out ... what do you think?? I have to tell you, I soooo appreciate you telling me that was a rough spot (even though I already felt it, I suppose I hoped I was wrong!) and helping me to make the poem better. I am going to publish it, so all the editing I can get it deeply appreciated.

    Blessings, Analie

Well written poem depicts that no matter how small a person may be that does not mean they are not capable of achieving many things.

You are correct, children will enjoy this poem.

What a lovely story and of course with a moral to be learnt. Kindness begets kindness. Consideration is a must. You should write a children's book. I'd certainly buy a copy for my nephew.

Thank you! I am actually publishing. It is almost ready ... I have quite a few illustrations, but feel it needs a couple more, so when they are finished ... Publication!

This is a delightful story young and old can really enjoy. I love how you characterize both Gilly and Milton and allow them to converse as young gentlemen. Moreover, the LESSONS learned by each (courage, cooperation, peace is better than war ) are timeless. The poem, though long, reads easily and the rhymes are well chosen. I truly enjoyed this and also admire your skill as an artist. Rod
