A great chapter, Barbara - I particularly enjoyed the interaction between Emily and Shana -

Shana's lucky to have a decent man like Anderson helping her. Looking forward to find out what happens.

Blessings,
Margaret

Hi there; I love the relationship between Shana and Emily. We have been given a glimpse into the inner workings of the household, and it is easy to see how Anderson is able to get so much done with the help he has in the house.

I'm hoping Shana will start to get some answers. I think while she is enjoying her stay, she still is focused on the task at hand.

Looking forward to more,

~patty~

Good morning, Barbara

Nice change of pace; the innocent 'presence' regarding Emily offering the reader a respite from the seriousness surrounding your characters.

"I am." He took a drink of milk. "Did you milk the cow too?"
"Silly, milk comes from the store." Priceless.

Take care and stay safe,

Ray

Well done. Felt it was time for a SIX again. I loved the interraction between Shana and Emily. Also the fully compliant Dad which I feel Emily has missed with her boring mother. No spags and great story again.

Nice break from tension with a lighthearted chapter about Emily. Anderson must be a decent guy, shown by how he is with his child. Shana was really lucky to have him come by when she needed help. :)

Hi, Barbara.

This part-chapter read well.

Only one nit to pick. You wrote:
It was hidden in the dense jungle. We had to stay low so the dangerous hyenas wouldn't find us."

Note: *Hyenas are not jungle animals; they tend to live in savannah grasslands.
Tigers--are jungle animals found in forests (China and India--very few left)
Jaguars--found in Amazon forests.
Leopards & Panthers--found in jungles, savannah, Asia; very adaptable.

I know that, but I felt the German Shepherds would be hyenas not any of the big cats.

Well, now that you've got me craving chocolate chip cookies and my mind won't focus on anything else, it's time to make a run to the supermarket. Thanks for sharing another fine chapter. :-)

Hi Barbara, this is another fine piece of your story. I found a couple of things for you. 'you out did yourself' = outdid
he pushed his chair way from the table = he pushed his chair away from the table
I so enjoy the story, and I'm looking forward to what's next. All the best. Ulla:)))

This a nice post with good intrigue.
For the stiff dialogue I'd assume this to be a blue-blood family with pending affairs. There's one spaghetti to look at: "I think that's a great idea. You can play, oops, help wash dishes."
It ends with a nice hook to open the next post.
Thanks for sharing.

It look like the ball is being put into play, but is the playing field level? Send all the kids to the principle office and leave them there for about an hour. That should give you some free time to review.

Look at the bright side. You might be suspended for a few days. Use them to review. Or teach Harley to review. He has plenty of time.
