I like this chapter, Brett, BUT having any busy airport, and Orlando is busy, empty and not overflowing, isn't terribly realistic. And so having this very well-described pedophile eviscerate and mutilate this little boy in the airport bathroom without being seen (especially with the screaming boy) sort of fails the suspension of disbelief test.
Your writing is good except for that hole in the plot. Can you move him to a maintenance room or something, where no traveler would be expected?

Personally, I believe pedophiles are not able to be rehabilitated, and therefore should be permanently locked away from society, where they can not harm young children as depicted in this chapter.
But even more important to me is, what is wrong in the society of humans that makes people like Rickie Wolford? I believe the answer to that question would be the most effective way to combat such monsters - seeing to it that they don't "develop" in the first place. After all, we're all born innocent, right?

Personally, I believe pedophiles are not able to be rehabilitated, and therefore should be permanently locked away from society, where they can not harm young children as depicted in this chapter.
But even more important to me is, what is wrong in the society of humans that makes people like Rickie Wolford? A very well-written chapter. A gruesome murder of a minor child is very upsetting for any parent. The times we went on family outings, my children were always in my view as far as possible.

I also believe that there is no rehabilitation that guarantees the desire is gone and I speak from family experience of an 82 year old uncle. Excellently written
