Good one! I really like this 1-6-1. Your syllable count is perfect and I enjoyed the topic you wrote about. It definitely captures the fun of summertime. There's nothing like enjoying a cold treat from the ding ding man or a bomb pop from the freezer when you're a kid (or even as an adult) :) Good internal rhyming in the second line. Nicely done! This 1-6-1, Sweet Summer Treat, fulfills all the requirements of the challenge and, I guess, indicates some sort of lemonade or other cold beverage -- no -- Ice cream! That's it. Popsicles for the non-dairy crowd.

Yes ... ice cream is the summer treat on a hot day. Popsicles will keep the kids busy, though their clothes will get sticky and their mouths will turn orange or purple. I do drink lots of cold lemonade. Enjoy summer ... winter is only a few months away ...

Okay, sounds good to me!
So, what're we having--ice cream? Boy, a banana split sure tastes great on a hot day.
You gotta eat 'em fast, though. Otherwise you'll be eating something that looks more like banana soup than split.
Slushies are good too, but the same principle of being quick applies, and brain freeze must be considered.
7-11 has my favorite--the Pepsi Slurpee...

Yes ... ice cream. Ice cream, you scream.... we all scream for ice cream. Slurpee's are good but make me burp ..ee. Popsicle's are fun, but turn my mouth colors like orange and red and drip on my shoes. Banana splits make me take a nap and get sunburned. But, it's nice to have a treat on a hot summer's day. Appreciate all your comments on this short, summery poem.

All syllables present and correct so no worries there... lol

I liked this little piece. All rhymes good and solid and speaks a nice truth... can't beat a nice cold lolly or drink when the sun is blistering the sky.
