I'm enjoying the adventures of Bernie and Howie. They seem to have a good handle on their relationship with their mistress, (as dear ones do, thei seem well aware of their powers, albeit instinctively) love your interpretation and writing of these cute happenings, well done, blessings, Roy

Hi Roy; writing my Bernie and Howie stories is very relaxing and fun. It is so much easier to get into their heads and portray their feelings than those of humans,

I really enjoy your Bernie and Howie tales, Patty you transfer their mind and soul to paper so effortlessly giving the reader the comfort that they know these pets as their own.

LOL! I am a huge dog fan and they take center stage in many of my novels. I enjoyed your short story and am positive both Bernie and Howie are well loved and taken care of.

I love your doggie stories, Patty - you describe their actions so well, which makes it all so enjoyable. It's funny how a dog will offer a play toy and then as soon as you/or Howie in this case goes for it, Bernie picks it up and runs. My Jenny used to do this.
Another game was I hid behind the settee or chair and called her name and she would come running, and when she found me, she's go beserk running back and forward up and down the lounge. I don't know who was the daftest - her or me.

keep them coming, my friend.

Hi Margaret; I knew you were ready for another Bernie and Howie story!

I love writing about the boys, and it is so easy for me to portray their thoughts; I probably spend way too much time sitting here and imagining their thoughts,

    Thanks for reading and reviewing,

We play hide and seek, too. I always lose,

A very well-written story about the summer heat and how our pets handle the heat. Stretched out over the tiled floor which is definitely the coolest spot in the house.

Hi Sandra; thank you so much for reading and reviewing. Bernie spends quite a bit of time in that spot,

How sweeeeeet! Patty, you took me right in to Bernie and Howie's world. You seem to truly know your little boys and their lovable characters. I could see Bernie going through all the motions you described so well:

Still feeling the effects of the sleep-inducing heat, he stretched fore and aft. As his head cleared, his grey and tawny, plumed tail wagged in anticipation of Howie's next move.

Hi Aki; thank you so much for the lovely review. The boys inspired this story with their play, and my phone app tells me it will be in the high 90s and 100s this week. Thank God, my air conditioning isn't actually broken!

Patty, This is another very cute story about little Howie. I love the picture you took of him. The way you described the heat sounded like he was in Tennessee too! Great job! Enjoyed reading. Teri

Hi Teri; no, the heat is actually stuck in the Pacific Northwest. The temperatures will be in the 100s this week.

Luckily, my air conditioning isn't really broken -- I think I would be too hot to write if this were true,
