Isn't it amazing how lack of communication or intolerant judgementalism and lack of trust, probabably destroys more relationships, that can be estimated. Personal hurt locks out the sensitivity to other's feelings or perceptions. The devil wins again. A willingness to forgive is important in any relationship. Well done, Patty, excellent episode, good reading, blessings, Roy

Hi Roy; thank you so much for continuing to read along with this story. Yes, this whole mess came down to a lack of trust and communication.

The next chapter should be up by the end of the week,

Why didn't he try again to explain about Veronica. She certainly messed things up for him. They seemed so much in love. One suggestion..The thoughts he'd turned away from(,) for the past few weeks flooded his brain.

Hi; due to the lack of trust and communication, things really continued to go wrong.

Thank you for continuing to read along with the story,

I can understand Ron's initial reaction to the news, but his return call showed what a coward he really was.

I am left wondering despite his real emotion at the end, was it fear of his half-sister that made him so nasty

hugs

    Hi Freda;
thank you for continuing to read along with the story. Since I know the real 'Ron,' and I've had the opportunity to speak with him now - some thirty-four years later; even he isn't clear as to why things went the way they did with the phone call and his response.

At 62, he's much more mature, (LOL)

Ron and Jenny handled the important situation differently. Ron dealt with it without guidance while Jenny begged for and got input from Patty. This is typical how many relationships culminate when it is not grounded with enough maturity or teaching. I'm curious to see how this story ends.

Hi Phillip; this was a very difficult chapter to write; I still can't believe that Ron only saw ONE option.

    Much more to come,

ps; THANK YOU so much for the lovely sixth star

Good afternoon, Patty

Excellent continuation. I really liked how your presented Ron's initial reaction to Jenny's being pregnant and his solution -- abortion. It should be interesting to see how this plays out in the following posts. Enjoyed.

Take care and stay safe,

Ray

It just upsets me no end that two adults could be so stupid and behave the way these two were behaving. Why can't they communicate and toss their pride and jealousy out the door?
After all, they loved each other enough to make a baby together, to love each other, STILL, yet both seem to be too proud to open up and speak of the way they fell. So sad. Well done Patty. Nancy

Nice photo of a phone that complements your chapter so well. The intro was very handy. Jenny and Ron were an item at one time. Jenny is pregnant with his child. She tells him, and all he says is that e will pay for half of the cost for an abortion. So sorry for her. No changes needed.

A very well-written heartfelt chapter of emotions and confusion. Ron, as many men do, go into shock at first. When he had time to think it through he came to a solution that will in his mind make everything better and the problem disappear.

Hi Sandra; thank you for your continuing support of this piece.

Yes, Ron did try to just make the problem go away; he didn't want to deal with it at all,

    Stay tuned for what's coming,

He should have been man enough to pay the full cost. At least to get her input on the situation. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.

Hi Charlie; I never did understand the 'paying half' stuff, either. However, the situation made me sick and it colored how I viewed men for a time.

Thank you for continuing to read along,

Ouch! Just as I thought, Ron's a dick. I don't think breaking the news to Ron over the phone was the best idea that Jenny ever had, but I guess the result would have been the same.

Hi Thomas; yes, Ron didn't have the best or nicest reaction to the news. I think Jenny was afraid of how things would go if they talked in person. But...just like with emails and texting - real emotion doesn't come through. Maybe if she had seen the pain on his face, she could've helped him get to a better place.

    Thank you for reading along,

    ~patty~
