I enjoyed reading your inter-mingled story line, from Equerry Harry to potential love interest to suffragette.
Each, with his/her own poignant purpose in life, each of differing life backgrounds and interests. No wonder Lady Mathilda can't keep a man, considering her suffragette beliefs in the 1820's.
Glad I found this chapter, will have to go back and start from the beginning.
It's well told, organized, and I'm learning new words! Equerry and gymkhana

This speaks a common and somewhat strange cause of action manifestation, in other words, Marquis Gregoir's' dilemma as he felt like he was being inadvertently caught up in a maelstrom; I liked.

Poor Gregoire. I suppose suffragettes in those days were pure horror to a man.
'Gregoire, I shall be delighted to accompany you.' Mathilde replied.' What a wonderful opportunity it will be to become acquainted with the London suffragettes. I must advise Mama and have her prepare my little flag for the occasion.
