Cheers, Gypsy;
-this haiku made me giggle and happily so as both the great alliteration which makes the reading fun and attunes the reader to a happily read piece of poetry.
-The great alliteration of the S letters creates for a very uncompromising understanding and reading of your haiku.
-Very descriptive and expressive chromatically connected lines and a satori that gives the poem that moment but estimate also gives the spontaneity of excitement and reserves the understanding of the haiku to be relative to the conceptual theme.
-Thanks for sharing and take care and have a good one.

Hey, darlin'.
This is not only a beautifully presented haiku that evokes feelings of those warm, carefree, halcyon summer days spent lounging in fields as a kid, it also demonstrates how so few words can be used with maximum effectiveness.

At my son's City-Wide Little League games in Norfolk, VA, there was a vendor who sold hot sunflower seeds seasoned with...with...he would never tell me what (secret family recipe he said). Suffice it to say they were delicious, as were his cashews, peanuts, and pretty much everything else I tried that he sold.

This lovely haiku has just the right amount of "seasoning" too. A bit of warmth sprinkled in, along with the consonance and alliteration of "s". Your simple satori ties in well and brings it all together nicely.
Fantabulous!

I love sunflowers, and got a beautiful bouquet for hubby
who had his birthday on 10th July. Some are still quite fresh
but one or two have given up the ghost together with some
other flowers and the greens.

Beautiful presentation Gypsy and your lovely haiku has raised many fine memories of laying in the grass, eating sunflower seeds and watching the clouds roll by.

Your presentation is classy and warm. :))

This work has reached the exceptional level

HI Gypsy
I like your nature haiku of how
sunflowers soak up
sunshine in the field --
and feeds us with warm tasty snacks

and also how birds love to feast on them

    You are welcome Gypsy
Question do I have time to put a haiku about flowers in your multi-authors book?

We traveled to North Dakota a few years ago, and saw what seemed like endless fields of sunflowers. You brought back the vivid scene, and I liked the use of abundant alliteration and the lighthearted satori. Smiles- Joan

Nice! Your poem and definitely the accompanying picture reminds me of my time in Israel, I picked Sunflowers for about two months. Hard work because they are heavy man but they are beautiful tall giants.
