It's obvious you wrote the poem after selecting the picture. You certainly captured the total essence of the picture in your poem. To often, the beauty of a storm is lost on those whose only thought is to seek shelter. I would love to be in a lighthouse some day and watch the living ocean.

Yes, this is another of my EKPHRASIS poems inspired by art, although the scene itself I have seen many times when I visited my sister in British Columbia. Thanks so much for sharing and your kind praise. Rod

In my opinion, beautifully done - easy and fluid rhyme and meter - well constructed in its presentation and choice of art, to complement and illustrate the verse...

I've had the privilege to walk the stormy coastline of Lake Michigan. It was amazing to feel the harsh wind and the stinging spray from the Lake below. This is a wonderfully written poem and I love the picture.

Good luck in the contest!
Have a great day and God bless.

On craggy point a lighthouse looms.
Its sweeping beams of silver light
slash through the shroud of drifting mist,
revealing boulders masked at night.
Though drama lurks this darkened day,
I find true peace in what is there,
those noisy birds, the whipped-up sea,
all nature's gifts He lets me share.' Such a stunning write it reminded me of Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Beautiful and imaginative I absolutely adored this write very well done kind regards Meia xx

I'm really not that good with quatrain poems. But I do love this artwork and the words you assembled to describe nature's boundless beauty and mystery. You put tranquility and tempestuousness together in the last stanza.

Though drama lurks this darkened day,
I find true peace in what is there,
those noisy birds, the whipped-up sea,
all nature's gifts He lets me share.

I could resist reading this poem when I read the title. I am enchanted by the sea; hence, your title grabbed my attention. Your imaged filled quatrains mesmerized me and maintained my attention. I am awestruck by the enchantment of your words.

I have also written a poem about the sea, entitled "My Friend, the Sea." If your time permits, please feel free to read it.

Good luck in the contest.
