Hi Maria Jose. This is a lovely poem and a beautiful tribute to Bath which is indeed a beautiful City. It's hard to imagine that Jane Austen didn't like it. I think this is one of your best poems I've read so far. All the best. Ulla:)))

I particularly enjoyed this, having lived on the outskirts of Bath for several years, some time ago now. I still have fond memories of the place and these were brought back into sharp focus by your poem. Golden walls reflecting the sun - perfect!

Oh, Maria, I love this poem! I visited Bath once on a day tour, but, alas, I did not bathe there. Thanks to you, I just added Jane Austen to my Audible wish list so I could listen to the audio recording and full cast performances later.
Your poem is filled with the love and romance of the "glorious past" of a unique city. I love your details:
I can see ladies
In embroidered robes,
Carriages bouncing
On the cobblestones.
I can see and imagine this. In fact, I did imagine this when I went to Bath. I daydream of how the city once was and the people who populated it. I would love to return and this time bathe in Bath.
Thank you for sharing your nostalgic ode to Bath.

Hi Maria. This is a very nicely composed poem that I enjoyed reading. The image is beautiful. I like the way you have described life in the city and the contrast between your feeling about it and Jane's. Marilyn

Hello Maria, I had to google Bath since I never heard of it before today. I am now educated about this city, known for it's Roman baths. The poem is a great tribute to Bath and your appreciation of it. Call me ignorant but I shall also have to google Jane Austin. (lol)

Jane Austen is the writer whose anniversary I posted about the other day. Read one of her books if you can. She's my favorite author.
Thanks for reading and have a lovely Saturday.

Yes, it's England.
This building is next to Parade Gardens, very near the Abbey and the Roman Baths.
Thanks for reading.
