Nicely written from the POV of Iris when she is diagnosed with Leukemia.A very difficult and heart wrenching time for everyone. Lovely video of Iris all grown up and looking, and sounding, very good. Well written chapter Maria,
cheers

Hi Maria. I enjoyed reading this segment of your story about iris. The photo is so cute of Iris as a little girl. Loved watching the video and listening to her sing. I can see the resemblance between you two. She is a very pretty girl. My daughter turned 47 today. Marilyn

Hello Maria,
I was happy to read that there is a Leukemia that is curable - 'Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.' I never knew about this before. I was relieved to read this part. I ma still enjoying this story. It is very well written and very well told.
Did you say before that iris was your daughter. Is that her in the video before she got sick. I think I am confused and may have to go backwards to read again. Wasn't this the story about your daughter getting sick as a little girl?

Iris had leukemia when she was 4, she's now 22 and is doing very well. I posted the video so that you can see what she looks like now.
Thanks for reading.

Well, it's based on my daughter's story, but it's meant to be a novella.
Thanks for reading.

Cancer/leukemia is a very scary thing. Waiting for the results is one of the worst waits of your life. They seem to have made great strides with leukemia and is more treatable than years ago.

Fortunately. My daughter is proof of that. She overcame this illness 18 years ago.
Thanks for reading.

'She has leukaemia, then?'
'She does. But remember ALL is curable. She'll be back to school in no time.'
'What's ALL?' I asked.
'Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.'
'Sounds grand.'......
You deal with this difficult topic so well, My thoughts and prayers are with you. Also you deal with the difficulties of burdening a loved one who may not be able to cope with the harsher realities of illness. If this is a true story you are an inspiration. Well done on a marvellous write kind regards Meia xx

This is a novella, but it's based on my daughter's true story. She suffered from leukemia when she was four.
Thanks for reading.

Yes, Iris Garcia is my daughter and she's a great singer. The story is based on her experience when she was four.
Yes, I will continue the story. It's a novella and I have already finished it.
Thanks for reading.

Poor Iris! It would be a shocking thing for a child to find out they have leukaemia. The poor mum, having lost her husband to this beastly thing, she would be very anxious indeed about her child. I know how much I need my wife. Well done, Maria, well told tale, good descriptive text, blessings, Roy

MJ,
What an encouraging post. I imagine the scary thoughts that this girl and her mom faced and thank God that we have been so blessed. This could be anyone of us. Thanks for the reminder. Sweet!
