Dip, This is another very well written love gone bad poem you have penned. I like that you compared it to a piano note that had gone bad. Very good wording and great imagery with the art work. Blessings, Teri

Oh wow this one is so very true in more ways than one. I love the way you took the piano and used it to talk about life and love and it's downfall. Love the rhyme and flow

Dr D,
I enjoyed you poem although it is sad when love dies. I like the way you used the piano keys to represent love. You are right. When anything is neglected, it dies. Good job & thanks for sharing. Jan

This is lovely, Mark. Unfortunately it's also often true.
I love this line:
I played ivory, you played ebony
And these:
So why did the notes go slowly sour?
Why did our love become so dour?
Thanks for sharing.

I can certainly relate to this, having been a victim of such an occurrence. One never knows what happened. Too complicated, I imagine.
I like that you wrote it using piano keys as your 'characters.'

Love sometimes turns sour and keeping it alive and bouyant can be a hard task as the years mount up, but if you are lucky, love will last a lifetime, hope this is fiction, love Dolly x

"So why did the notes go slowly sour?
Why did our love become so dour?
The old piano is now not played
It's gone off key when you strayed
All that are left are our rings of love
And a broken keyboard you can see above
Don't think we'll play that music again
Our music is lost just can't explain"
I couldn't have said it any better than if I'd written this myself, Mark. But I have lived it and I know all too well what it feels like without having to speculate.
It's no fun...

DIP, this is a perfectly written lost love poem. Every single word is placed so just rightly. I specifically love the way you related the love to the keys of music. This makes it the perfect poem. Below are some of my favorite lines:
Our love was like a piano key
We played love's music in harmony
I played ivory, you played ebony
The pitch we played for you and me
The tune of love is all so sweet
Beautiful music, a beautiful beat
Each note we played, just so fine
The tune of love, just so divine
